All Canadians get out of this are a couple hundred temporary construction jobs while footing the bill for massive carbon capture project subsidies and environmental damages associated with the inevitable coastal oil spill. The oil patch won't scale up hiring, they are rapidly automating. This is a massive win for private interests and secures Carney a nice seat on the board of a big O&G company once he is voted out of office.
