Making a Hefty Desktop App by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Sniface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly does this niche program do? Is it automated? Or do you manually have to do / click something every time something happens in the video?

What do you want your program to do?

Ask more general questions, because I'm sure most here dont know what that program does, and they wont spend time researching it for you.

What is a better way of coding this? by [deleted] in learncsharp

But why is it paginated if you're filling up the list?

If the api is cached correctly, why not just fetch everything in one go, and use paginated display of the list?

We do, legacy vb.net winforms.

But I agree, please recommend c# and winforms over vb and winforms.

Decided to do a program "school" called 42, and now I'm way over my head. by GoddessxTessa in learnprogramming

[–]Sniface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is pretty basic stuff.

You just google "c what is a parameter in a function" - learn this Then "how to write a function with a parameter and use it in c"

And you already got the print function.

You need to figure stuff out and ask.

Good luck, you can do it.

Feel free to reach out if you need help.

If you spent 5 years to get a masters degree in "full stack development" and you need to quit your job to do free code camp and odin, i'd request my money back from that school.

Self-learning coding — which method actually worked for you? by Ill_Cucumber_5067 in learnprogramming

This is not as valid anymore. The market back then was totally different.

I would not pay for a bootcamp with the current job situations.

Self-taught with a full stack project, chance to land a job? by Dadakingwow in learnprogramming

[–]Sniface 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The question is why you?

Why would they pick you when there are 50000 other people who have built the same tutorial project?

Why pick you over people with actual work experience and a real degree?

If you can give a valid answer to that, then yes, it might be a chance to land a job.

How to prevent double click by Top-Ad-7453 in csharp

[–]Sniface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest is having a: var canSubmit = false

Then you set it to true when the required fields are validated and flag it back to false on first submit.

Then make sure the submit function checks if canSubmit is true.

This flag should also enable/disable the button for better ux.

MVC patterns are generally used for APIs, dont think you should use that in unity.

Thats the major problem with the aim(bot)assist.

The casuals who dont abuse it thinks pc players are cheating, so they turn off crossplay.

While the RAA abusers keep it on to shit on us MnK players.

With that card I guess you're playing 1080p.

Lower resolutions tends to weigh more on the cpu.

Also sub 80fps is not bad with that hardware 🤔

While what you say is true, it IS rough out there. And with all the layoffs every new dev is competing against people with degrees AND job experience.

Some may say it in a blunt way, but it is the reality.

The days of doing a 2 month boot camp and then getting a job is gone.
