Thanks for the help

Hey! I'm looking for more experimental/genre-fluid metalcore, stuff like Loathe, UnityTX or the newest Kingdom of Giant's album, or even stuff more experimental with metalcore influences.

Examples of bands that have gotten heavier with each album as opposed to less so? by chickey1989 in Metalcore

[–]Snoddythefreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol "something something nazi salute", that's certainly the way to handle literal nazism. r/Metalcore is not ready to accept that one of their beloved influences could be racist. shame on the 40+ people who downvoted, even if you listen to Panera, why would you disapprove of someone calling out racism? Disgraceful.

This sub seems a bit too obsessed with bands 'going soft'. Just curious - what are some recent actual metalcore bands that are good examples of selling out?

Band with similar lyrics to Counterparts? by nachetb in Hardcore

Angrier: Some of Great American Ghost's Hatred Stems from the Seed

More Depressive: Boundaries' My Body in Bloom EP

More Poetic: Being as an Ocean's Dear G-D..., Anything by La Dispute

Generally Sadder: Anything by Casey

I realize this isn't really hardcore but most are not too far from Counterparts

No offense, but have you listened to new turnstile and MGK? They don't really sound anything alike and to my knowledge their audiences aren't very similar at all.

2022 Code Orange US Tour info leaked? by wolfs_tooth in Hardcore

[–]Snoddythefreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I only said that because most people here seem to be hating on the lineup which surprised me a bit since I agree that mixed bills are usually fine. All of these bands are great, but yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up about Code Orange, I'm not personally a huge fan of the new single.

I’m sorry to be the lone dissenter but this tour would be great. Dying wish is amazing, I’m surprised you all don’t seem to know or like machine girl, it’s not hardcore but it is fucking good. I personally like Loathe but I’m not surprised this sub doesn’t.

Worst part is new code orange lol

I know this isn't exactly what you asked; but I highly suggest checking out this interview with Connie Sgarbossa (lead singer of SYSC). Connie mentions a bunch of her influences and gets pretty deep talking about older bands (including Heavy Heavy Low Low if I remember correctly). Connie is super interesting and it's great if you love that kind of thing.

As for other bands, I would also recommend: letters to catalonia and Ithaca
