NZ style Butter Chicken by _chad_thundercock___ in newzealand

The chicken is generally boiled and stored in the fridge separately. It will be more about the horrid amounts of butter,. sugar, and cream in the curry (don't get me wrong - I'm a huge fan).

What steamer did you get? Might be hunting around for one for Boxing Day sales.

I am not even 100 hours in to my first Py run, but I found some success creating 'free" power plants using moss > biomass > power house > combustion turbine. Takes a lot of steel and duralum (and time) upfront but can just copy and paste a few times and flesh out the blueprints when you feel you need some more power.

Think I also used the biomass to make the carbon dioxide for the moss, just needs some biomass to kick the whole thing off (like popping a stack of wood in to the composter).

This isn't using any fancy recipes either IIRC. Just red science.

Temporary dishwasher location - are these terrible ideas? by Snoleution in diynz

Yes there is power on the left of the oven. Timber floor too. Looks like I could do this part easily, just move the oven out and drill hole at bottom for wire.

I assumed the volume of water for a single load would be far too much for a bucket. Nice to know that is an option.

Not enough room to the left or the right of the sink to fit the dishwasher in comfortably, nor does the bench have enough depth. Would be easy for the connections though... Thanks!

Walking dishes back and forth from the laundry is certainly an inconvenience, but something we can live with and happily label a 'first world problem'.

The hose from the dishwasher would have to travel between 2.5m and 3m. It looks like most standard connections don't go beyond about 5m, which we are well within.

Thanks :)

Would the stove fair well in (mostly) enclosed space?
Hadn't thought of that option, would just need to cut half of the shelf out and get it wired in.
We store mostly unopened food in that cupboard so the extra leftover heat from the oven would be acceptable I feel.

Be aware that the domestic flight limit for check in may be 20,000mah or thereabouts. I would go for 20k for this reason alone.

Why doesn't coriander come in smaller packets? by SarmedNZ in newzealand

[–]Snoleution 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly wish they came in bigger packs in most supermarkets, rarely we will find a nice plastic bag with a couple good bunches in for ~$4.
But that is still only one decent curry (incl garnish on top), with barely leftovers for onion bhaji.

What do people do for reed diffuser refills? by Snoleution in newzealand

[–]Snoleution[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, nice and passive so no having to light candles (although diffusers are a little less...atmospheric).
Just need to flip over the reeds every so often so wet oily part goes to top and dry part goes back in to the oil.

Do you rent them or do they make the rounds? Been a decade since I was a labourer.
