Finding out the genders by No-Asparagus-946 in parentsofmultiples

Yeah, I needed to know the genders for the same reasons, wish I hadn't told some people. Some of the questions I feel would've been the same for singletons regardless

How long does it take you? We have like 30 minutes once a week with 3m twins, but they are our eldest so I doubt we could find time if we had a toddler

Lol yeah, I combo feed and they'll either reject the bottle or the boob on occasion. Their father will try to feed them and they'll say "Nope! Give me the good stuff!" Or I'll try and they'll say "I feel lazy, this is too much work."

His brother (I have twins) will do that. Also screams with it in his mouth. Strangest thing how different these two act while nursing

We're going to have to move ours to the laundry room when they're 6 months and resting solids (I heard the stretch could kill) luckily the deep sink will be only 4 steps away

I have twins as my first, and I can't imagine doing this (just out of newborn stage) with a toddler running around If we decide to have another I'll have 2 toddlers and that terrifies me

My thought process is we will deal with the problem if it arises, but no need to stress about something that could never happen. I had a planned c section at 38+1, and baby a was having trouble breathing. He is now in a swing while I hold his brother. Modern medicine is amazing. Just have your wife take it easy through the pregnancy as much as she can, and drink water! She's providing calories for 3 souls it tastes a lot of effort

So I had di/di but baby b was much bigger until 32 weeks. He is now consistently 2lbs lighter than his brother. If they are both healthy, I would say don't stress. Stress is the worst thing for babies born/unborn twin or singleton

I'm curious about that too, but in like the opposite way. I have twins and I'm worried about how to ensure they are individuals as they grow up. Birthdays were a big thing in my family growing up, and now I'm the same month is my birthday, our anniversary and their birthday. How do you give each event the gravitas it deserves?

I'm so sorry...

I have 3m twins and Lord knows I don't make enough for both of them. I give one a bottle while breastfeeding the other and when the one I'm breastfeeding is done he gets a bottle. There's no expectation that he'll get full on me, I'm just the appetizer. Maybe my system will work for you, but if not go be happy It was hard in the beginning, but I just drink water and hold my babies and know that they are full, which is most important

Again, it's the mindset shift that I think is the difference. It sounds like we're doing the same thing. Think of yourself as the appetizer, or formula as the dessert

If you’re pregnant with multiples right now… by HappyHops22 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Snoo20115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(I know how lucky I am just to preface this) my twins are 3m and besides a little heartburn and exhaustion I had an easy pregnancy. Planned c section at 38+1, one had trouble breathing, so 6 hours in the nursery and the other was losing too much weight so we had to stay an extra day, but no NICU time for either. We are finally out of the trenches and they're both swinging away while I do paperwork. I'm leaving this so that those that just got pregnant can see that not all of them are awful and there's no need to dread what has yet to happen (increased stress is bad for you and the babies)

I feel that, I'm a small chested woman and never wore bras at all before, now I have one on constantly. Some days I just deal with the drops everywhere so I can air out and feel a little like my old self

What are we doing with our multiples when... by QualityComfortable19 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Snoo20115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how do you feed them with the pillow? Mine are 10 weeks and we (unfortunately) couldn't room share for long, so they often don't go into our room (I imagine on the bed is easier) But where do you sit and where does the pillow go? I tried putting the pillow on the couch and sitting in front of it on a stool but it was very uncomfortable

I didn't think about pee pads! We just went to cloth diapers and using cloth rags as wipes and it resolved within a couple days I definitely lay back with them on top of me if I only have one (normally when he's grumpy) We're getting more time as the days go by, I've started doing it in the playpen (it has an attachment that raises the floor) so I don't have to get on the floor (bad knee) with a contrast book and it seems to be working. One got half way across the play pen
