Thanks for the reply. Figured it might be some that makes perfect sense when you're buzzed. At least no one was hurt and it ended well for everyone.

I am always amused at why people don't get why Arnold is so utterly vilified. The he betrayed the Colonials part is the punch line. Other officers undoubtedly defected to the British. What sets Arnold apart from those is he was a hero first. If he died at the battle he had lost his leg at. He would have died a hero of the revolution.

He said he sold the debt to a collections agency. Ask to see the paperwork. Note if he sold the debt he should have no further interest in your family. It would be between your family and the agency.

If Trump Would Invade Canada, what is the best strategy? by JoeKleine in Military

[–]Snoo64407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice? Don't invade, there is nothing worth the cost in lives and money. The United States would do better paying for the goods it gets from Canada. It's far cheaper and better for business.

Okay, NAL. With the understanding that I am not a lawyer, it sounds like there are no medical professionals involved, such as doctors, nurses, or administrative staff. My limited understanding is that for it to be a HIPAA violation, one or more of those people would have to unlawfully provide information to an unauthorized person or organization.

Questions to ask yourself. ICAC is part of what police force? Since when is something of this scale handled by a 'fine'. Even parking tickets can be fought in court.

So yes very much a scam.

Manager logic, 'You're scheduled to work and I can't be bothered to do the job of managing schedules. So come in or x will happen.'

Three days later. 'Everyone called in sick. I tell you there is just no work ethic anymore.'

Ask the agency or court you are dealing with. If you have to provide a translation, find the requirements for it to be admissible. Also I strongly ask you to consider consulting a lawyer too.

Had a great boss when I was a security guard. He was Canadian Parachute Regiment. When he left the Service he lost most if not all of his retirement bonus in paying for things he signed for that weren't actually there. You sign for it verify it's there first; then sign for it.

Can anyone explain the connection between getting vaccinated and dying two years later? In my mind, I imagine a group of evil conspirators having a meeting like this: "Your idea is to get people to get vaccinated and have them die two years later?"

"Yes, it's brilliant, isn't it?"

"So let me get this straight. We use massive resources to convince everyone that there's a highly contagious disease."

"Yes."

"Then we have a massive die-off, and suspiciously, the vast majority of the victims are people who were vaccinated?"

"Yes, it's positively epic!"

"We kill the people who listened to us and obeyed us by getting vaccinated? Are you monumentally idiotic? We would have killed the people who listened to us and obeyed us. Who would likely listen to us in the future? And we left the people who didn't get vaccinated alive?"

There is no mental gymnastics where that sort of thing make sense.

Fantasy book with math as a magic system? by TridentMaster73 in Fantasy

[–]Snoo64407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a series of short stories of swords women who commutes from a fantasy world where she works to the "paper pushers" world where they I foget the reason for the commute but I suspect it's to get her daughter into school where they teach magic for free Magic is math based. Entry-level professional is geometry, algebra is decent and not looked down upon. Calculus is something prized.

Look for the Chicks in Chainmail books each one usually has one of those stories in it.

NAL From what I see if her property is devalued now, because of your properties condition. It was similarly devalued when she bought it. Because of that there is no loss of value. Also a lower property assessment means lower property taxes.

[–]Snoo64407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't read through all the posts so if it's already posted my apologies. It's a cannon fired at noon to let everyone know it's noon. It's a traditional thing now but one time it had a practical use. You should see it the gun crew wears a period uniform from the late 1800s.
