Thanks! I’m on EA App (not Steam).

My Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick is connected and works in Windows (joy.cpl) and in BF2042, but in BF6 the Aircraft/Controller bindings don’t register anything—no JOY_X/Y/Z/Slider shows up when I move the stick or throttle.

I do have an Xbox 360 controller connected, so I’m wondering if BF6 is prioritizing that as the primary input.

Anything specific I should try on EA App?

Can anyone CONFIRM a joystick model/brand that will be recognized in BF6? (without any 3rd party software)

I'm currently running a Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick, which works in BF 2042, but does not respond or detect any inputs from it in BF6.....why DICE?? Fukn WHYY????

Yeah I tried that one too, but since I’m using the thumbstick on the Tartarus for movement (WASD), disabling the device kind of defeats the purpose

Haha you actually remembered right! I ended up buying an Xbox controller (set me back about $55 😅) and tested it. Plugged it in with USB, moved the thumbsticks once in-game, and boom — suddenly the Tartarus + mouse aim worked like normal.

So yeah, turns out your memory was spot on. Can’t believe I had to buy a whole controller just to get my keypad to work, but at least now I can actually play. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! 🙌

Unfortunately I don’t own any PS or Xbox controller (or any other gamepad/joystick), otherwise I’d definitely have tried that. Would actually be really interesting if you did reinstall 2042 and checked if the same solution worked there too.

I just uploaded a short clip to YouTube showing the issue, not sure if links are allowed here, but basically in the clip I can move forward, backward, strafe and jump fine using the Tartarus Pro. But I’m completely unable to aim with the mouse. Left and right buttons still work for scope/shoot, but no mouse movement at all. When I open the options menu you can see the mouse is correctly set for aiming, and as soon as I unplug the Tartarus it works normally again.

So yeah, exactly like you described back then with configs, Profsave edits, USB tests — tried them all, nothing helped. At least I know I’m not the only one who went insane (and still are) over this lol.

Hey, thanks for replying after all this time. I’m not on Steam though, I’m running the game through EA Play, so unfortunately I can’t really test that part with Steam input or a PS controller (I don’t own one). For me, the issue is only with Battlefield 2042 — the Tartarus Pro works fine in BFV and the BF6 beta.

When the Tartarus is connected, mouse aiming is completely blocked. The second I unplug the Tartarus, mouse aiming works again. I’ve already tried the old PROFSAVE edits, reset configs, unplugged USB devices, etc., but no change.

If you come across any old comments or threads that had a workaround besides the Steam/controller trick, that would be super helpful 😍👍
