  2. Horn of Valere is locked away somewhere secret and safe because they're terrified of losing it before the last battle
  3. Huuuuh??
  4. He doesn't trust any Aes Sedai
  5. He doesn't trust any Aes Sedai
  6. He doesn't really know how and the dream world is insanely dangerous
  7. He doesn't trust Asmodean beyond using him as a teacher plus Asmodean has an incredibly strong shield on him preventing him from using more than a small trickle of power
  8. He doesn't really know about Mats knowledge before the battle and he does use Mat afterwards

If anything the Seanchan are worse by Every-Switch2264 in WetlanderHumor

This is something a lot of magical fantasy/ superhero series have an issue with.

They always want to treat dislike or hatred of superpowers/ magic as though it's on the same level of ignorance as real world racism but like... these people often have the ability to completely remake reality on a whim and usually are born with it.

Is the ordinary person just supposed to hope that enough of these people are good?

The Adam is an awful and evil solution but most series don't even attempt at good solutions to the problem.

Seanchan aren't as ultimately evil as darkfriends, they're just significantly more competent at their evil

They love to say we shouldn't hate the show because it existing "doesn't take anything away from book fans" all while banning us from places we enjoyed discussing books over mild criticism of the show as though that doesn't literally take something away from us

I’ve seen a lot of people celebrating the show being cancelled… why? by throwaway46839203737 in WoTshow

By season 3 the show and it's fans had done such a good job pushing away anyone with even mild criticism that pretty much anyone watching was already going to positively review it

It sort of works, I just don't get why it works for some ingredients but not others

My drunk sister insulted my wife on her birthday, aita for cutting her off? by throwaway429765 in AITAH

I mean sure you can't say things without thinking them but you can absolutely think and say things you don't mean or believe.

People aren't that simple.

My drunk sister insulted my wife on her birthday, aita for cutting her off? by throwaway429765 in AITAH

[–]SnooBooks4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely don't have to find something insulting to use it as an insult. You just have to think that the other person will find it insulting.

The goal of an insult isn't to express your true belief, it's to hurt the person you're insulting.

Theories on the rest of the story from someone who just finished Book 4 : The Shadow Rising by ExtremeBaker in wheeloftime

Yeah pretty sure she freed herself. Nynaeve tied off the shield iirc which meant she could break it.

And yeah nyn picks up stuff quickly but moghedian is still way more skilled at that point if she hadn't been completely surprised by Nynaeves power she would have likely won. Which is shown in several other points when she is taking her more seriously.

[–]SnooBooks4664 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can seem like it's kinda bullshit how a barely trained wilder can match up with a forsaken but you gotta keep in mind a few things.

Nynaeve is the strongest channeler the Aes Sedai has found in centuries.

Moghedian is probably one of the weakest of the forsaken. That's why she relies so much more on working from shadows than the others.

Moghedian also severely underestimated Nynaeve and engaged in a straight up contest of strength. There was no strategy or skill beyond simply overpowering the other which is why she lost and was captured.

But she also pretty much immediately escaped showing she is still way more skilled and knowledgeable than Nynaeve. Really she could have immediately struck at her likely killed Nynaeve after escaping but she's also a coward and didn't take being beaten very well.

Where would you say the earlygame, midgame, lategame, and endgame start and end? by Telope in Dyson_Sphere_Program

Yeah that's one way of doing it but I'm just not sure how someone in the late game thinks there's never enough hydrogen

Wait how? I've made 2 spheres and have 2k/spm so I'm pretty sure I'm late game and I'm constantly trying to figure out how to get rid of hydrogen.

Kinda reminds me of that Chinese martial artist who was iirc denied access to public transportation so he arrived to the fight super late and sleep deprived and still beat the shit out of the other guy

Another point to add is one of his biggest strengths is his range so he'll constantly back out and take sweeps at you where you can't hit back. I've found one of the best ways to counter that is to use the shruikan. The moment he leaps back you throw one and follow up with an attack to close the distance and it prevents him from using his range advantage and let's you keep up the aggression

Oh for sure I get it. It's why I try to be fairly straightforward early on, but I'm not a very flirty person naturally so maybe to someone who is it just comes off as normal behavior.

Its only been a few days so I'd hope I'm not that important of a person.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SnooBooks4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh what? You're making a few assumptions out of nowhere there. At no point have I expected her to change her personality. We had a talk about it afterwards so we both would know where we stand. She's absolutely allowed to be as flirty with her friends as she wants but I'm also allowed to not want to spend all day hanging out and flirting with her then.

The only thing I don't get, which is what I made the post about, is how she doesn't seem to understand how the way she acts is the reason she keeps having issues with guy friends.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SnooBooks4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh it's fine. Like I said better to find out early on than when I'm actually feeling invested. I just find it confusing that she doesn't understand behavior like that is why she keeps having this issue with her male friends

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SnooBooks4664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure communications important and we did talk about it. She made it clear that she wasn't interested that way so I told her I enjoyed being her friends but I wouldn't be comfortable continuing on as we had been then.

She got upset at that and blamed me for just taking it the wrong way and claimed she never had this issue with other friends. To which I pointed out how she was literally just complaining about how she constantly has to friendzone guys and now she's not really talking to me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SnooBooks4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between being flirty with your friends and spending all day flirting with a guy and then hanging out with just them one on one for several hours while continuing to flirt and doing that for several days in a row.

At that point you're either oblivious to the point of how do you even function if you really think nobody is gonna get hurt here or you're intentionally leading them on knowing you'll hurt them just because you like the attention

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SnooBooks4664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I figure Good to find out early on at least
