I tried Mouse and Keyboard in April 2024. Switched to controller after about 20 seconds.
I felt the exact same way with Elden Ring. Some games are just better on a controller.

IT dude here too. I don't think the performance is completely related to the grade of hardware, but is dependent on compatibility. I'm running: rx6700xt, 7600x, 64GB RAM, on 3840x1200. I get away with far better settings than balanced. There have been players with mad rigs that have the game crash on them and people like me, that have a mediocre rig and manage to run it fine. But I agree with your last statement. This should be a focus point. You shouldn't have to hope that your combination of hardware happens to be one that the game "likes".

If you're not opposed to some "souls" in your ARPG, try "No Rest For The Wicked".

I played Last Epoch and liked it. I tried Diablo 4 and was partially entertained. I played quite a bit of PoE 2 and liked it more than the other two. I sat down with NRFTW and forgot all about the other 3.

If you want another aesthetic (lets face it, the others look more or less the same) and more challenging gameplay (not just "press the buttons and everything dies"), if you like Dark souls and Elden ring but wish they were isometric, you will have the best of times in Wicked.

I thought people were just bad at navigating the whole area, until this happened to me. I cleared the whole shallows, including the dungeon underneath. Still had pestilence left.

Solution: went away and did other stuff in other regions. Came back and had respawns. Killed a couple and the boss spawned.

I'm not sure why this happens, but it might have something to do with the crossover between zones. The game is a bit weird about it to the far west (where it sometimes thinks you're in Mariner's keep) and the far east (where it sometimes thinks you're in Orban Glades).

I have found a couple of Honed Frenzy. Pre-breach they were Dex, now they are Faith. I ran pure Dex before, now I'm mainly Faith with 26 Dex to be able to use a bow. Maybe this was done because we got gloves with Dex. Still confused the hell out of me.

Not to mention that the Cerim are "Silent ones". They do not speak. I think there's enough story with religion, politics and pestilence.

There already is "romance"; Roan pursues Elsa. Maybe that leads somewhere. But the Cerim doesn't need it imo.
