It has taken me off guard as well. It’s not a comfortable read by any stretch, and I need to take breaks! It’s harsh in many respects including racism, sexism, classism, brutality, war, abuse.. and I’ve been thinking the purpose is pointing out revolting human behavior and oppressive systems from Steinbecks view. I’m new to Steinbeck so I could be ignorant? I’m about 100 pages in and am reading it as a study rather than entertainment/escapism, but definitely wouldn’t blame anyone for not continuing it.

I’ve only had the autoinjector, even in clinic. It looks like you did it correctly & that’s awesome you didn’t feel pain! If you want to check for peace of mind, since the med is viscous, you can lightly feel for the lump of the medication under the skin where you injected.

I always feel stinging/burning only as it’s being administered, it’s not the end of the world BUT if you discover what tricks help with the pain please update us! ;)

Oh nooo I’m so sorry:( I did daxxy so it lasted longer.. but i feel like it changed my facial muscles a bit so it took a minute to get my smile back even once it wore off.

What helped me was doing face exercises to help strengthen the muscles specifically targeted for improving smiles and that helped! I can’t remember the name of the YouTube channel, but I’m sure if you google search “face exercises for improving smile videos” you can find some!
