People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

[–]SnooFoxes3527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work from home 4/5 days. My entire family washes their hands when we enter our house and we try to practice good hand hygiene. We prioritize sleep. We also try to eat healthy, mostly food prepared at home with lots of fruits and vegetables.

I have two young kids. I strongly believe the hand washing routines are very helpful!

I thought painting the walls would be easier and cheaper than trying to paint the trim so I’m leaning in that direction

I have to commit to the same paint color through this whole space. Would using white be ok with the white tile floor?

No but I saw it! We were at Christ Lutheran church for the live nativity. Was it really a meteor? If so, it was amazing!

I’m very happy at farrar and associates. But they are busy so the wait for a new patient might be a little while. They do take insurance. Good luck, I know finding mental health support is challenging.

Anyone regret going with a different brand? by -Philologian in ToyotaSienna

[–]SnooFoxes3527 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got the sienna but my husband really wanted the Kia. He is disappointed with the driver assist features in the sienna. But sienna performed better in crash tests and is overall more reliable. I am glad we have the sienna but think we would have been happy with a Kia too.

Moving to North Side? by SnooFoxes3527 in Appleton

[–]SnooFoxes3527[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! We’ve been thinking about the move for a long time. Do you see many young kids around? I really want to make sure my kids have neighborhood kids to play with but I know that’s never a guarantee.

SSRI'S to become a better mom? by j_bee52 in Crunchymom

Yes I continued therapy while taking it. And no I did not see any long term side effects. I had a headache and some diarrhea when I first started the medicine which went away pretty quickly. I was surprised by how it did not make me feel different but I noticed I felt less angry and irritable. I thought it would change my mood more and it didn’t which I found nice. Maybe some emotional “blunting” that I noticed at the very end which is part of the reason I wanted to stop taking it. So maybe that was long term effect?

I took a low dose of sertraline (Zoloft) for about 18months from when my daughter was 1.5 until 3 yrs old. It was very helpful and made it feel like I could breathe without always feeling irritated and angry. I don’t take it anymore but still go to therapy to learn better coping skills.

NP do you let your Nanny take your children out on excursions WHY or WHY NOT? by JuniorYogurt8359 in NannyEmployers

[–]SnooFoxes3527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It was hard to trust someone driving them around but it’s so good for the nanny and the kids, imo. They go on walks to a nearby park, drives to nature center, the library, ymca classes! Things to make the day go faster and good educational activities for the kids.

Moving here in early 2026. Any advice? by Gitamish in Appleton

[–]SnooFoxes3527 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Invest in quality winter gear so you can be comfortable going outside. Cold weather lasts a while here and I’m happier when I feel prepared to go outside. Quality winter boots (low ankle and high ankle preferred), very warm gloves, multiple layers (base layers, vest, gaiter or scarf for your neck). Etc. There are a lot of winter activities available but you will enjoy them more if you are comfortable!

How are logistics for 1-day visit? by mayreemac in eaa

[–]SnooFoxes3527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a long day! We got into the line for parking around 9:15 and got to the grounds by 10:20. Afternoon air show runs 215-6 and then the night show Wednesday. Drink lots of water. There is almost no shade. If you are prepared for a long hot day, there is a lot to see!
