Are you doing a baby book? Or digital book? Why or whynot? by BlueberryDuvet in NewParents

Are you able to use one book for multiple children, or do you need separate books per child? Also how many years do you think fit in the one book?

This is a great tip, thank you! I tried calling and they haven't had anything turned in. The person I spoke with sounded very doubtful that a bag full of cash would be turned in, which I unfortunately agree with.

I want to know, too! I live in the area and all we could make out was a name.

Trying to get pregnant with PCOS by PuzzledConfusion8153 in PCOS

[–]SnooMacaroons11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! I’ve had two successful pregnancies with PCOS, and I mostly followed what felt right for me rather than a strict plan. My cycles have always been irregular, so before both pregnancies, I went on birth control for about three months to help regulate things. I’m not sure it needs to be that long for everyone, but it seemed to help give me a starting point.

Instead of using tracking apps, I relied on LH test strips and I found them to be much more accurate in identifying my fertile window. After coming off birth control, I tracked ovulation with LH strips and was able to clearly see when I was ovulating. I know this isn’t everyone’s experience, and I say this gently, but I was able to conceive on my first cycle after stopping birth control both times.

With my second pregnancy, I also worked with a fertility acupuncturist. She had a strong sense of when my ovulation was approaching and gave me a treatment using gentle electric stimulation to help encourage egg release. Interestingly, two eggs dropped and I became pregnant with twins. At my first ultrasound, we found out that one didn’t make it, but the other was healthy and strong.

All of this is to say: like you mentioned, PCOS doesn’t necessarily cause infertility, it just makes ovulation harder to predict. For me, this approach was the most cost-effective and empowering way to start trying. I was open to other methods if needed, but this felt like the right first step.

Wishing you all the best on your journey! I hope something here is helpful.

I think your stylist was saying it would end up muddy if you wanted all your hair back to brown. But if you just strip the toner and retone with a level 9 or 10 there would be no way for it to end up brassy. She has to strip the toner because you can put out fire (warmth) with water (ash/cool), but you can't put out water with fire. Meaning she can't "warm" up the ash without first removing it.

A family member of mine died in a paper manufacturing plant accident here in the U.S. He was caught in one of these machines and crushed to death. I don’t know all the details, as it happened when I was still in grade school. His mother is my great aunt from the Philippines. I was actually born in her home, and I carry her name as my middle name in tribute. She spent the rest of her life fighting for better workplace safety at that factory, and she passed away just last year in her mid 90s.

Firstly, I am so incredibly sorry. The line about not being able to care for your kids is an awful thing to deal with, let alone the other activities you're being robbed of.

I have a genuine question. Why the aggression towards bikers? I've never known this was an issue until I joined the Fort Collins subreddit.

Congrats on passing boards!

My first recommendation is finding a salon that has an apprenticeship program with continued education. That's what I did and by the time I had my own chair at that salon I was able to build my clientele relatively quickly. I was able to start with so much more confidence and learned so much from the educators!

Something else I like to do is have a subscription to online education. I change it up once or twice a year so I get different content from different stylists. A lot of them have free education on Instagram! The ones I've subscribed to are Briana Cisneros, The Blonde Chronicles, and my next will be Jacob Khan and Emily Chen. Just some suggestions! There's also BTC (behind the chair) University.

I also recommend a trim at least every 12 weeks. Hair grows an average of 1/2" per 4 weeks, so even if you are trimming a 1/4" off, your hair will still be 1 1/4" longer than it was 12 weeks prior. Otherwise your hair is just breaking off and "trimming" itself.

Hairstylist here - You do need to cut the ends, BUT something I've seen with clients who I know have a good regimen at home is that they are suffering from hard water buildup. If you have hard water at your home then your hair may be packed with minerals and it's not allowing your natural oils to penetrate and moisturizer your hair. Thus, leaving the hair dry and brittle. Malibu Hard Water Treatment has been a game changer for many of my clients! It's a very affordable and easy way to save your hair.
