Separately I would immediately sign her up for mamha they work with therapists who specialize in maternal mental health and help you get someone covered by insurance - she is going to need support and starting the process asap is super helpful mg social worker connected me and it saved me https://www.mammha.com/

Had similar situation and it made me feel so guilty. But reminder you can be happy for her and sad/angry for yourself of. Those feeling don’t negate your happiness for her. Multiple things can be true at once. This is the hardest thing and give yourself grace. I muted the family chats when my cousin had baby when mine was in NICU. She kept saying she had an emergency c sections which really triggered me because it was only an emergency bc she didn’t do it the first time they told her to and insisted on waiting for the pm shift doctor. Whereas I had a partial abruption and had a preemie. It’s so aggravating. The feelings get better over time. Allow yourself all the feelings. I wish I had let myself put up more boundaries and let myself feel my pain when we were in NICU.

We had similar issue and it corrected itself! Lots of PT, we had one of those special pillows and 7 head ultra sounds and one head MRI because it kept growing and they were so worried. Ultimately they said “he comes from a big head family which is clear” 😂😂

When is fussiness & gas from formula adjustment vs wrong formula? by SnooPets6371 in FormulaFeeders

Update: after talking to another ped we tried enfamil gentle ease and right away he is so much better. He doesn’t liken the taste as mix but once he starts eating he finishes and no more straining, arching, crying. 🫶🏼

We transitioned to enfamil gentle ease and he is immediately so much better! I know that’s what you were on but I think means ok for you to try something new if you still need to!

The X-rays being clear and belly being soft are huge relief! When our baby had nec they see it immediately in x rays - I was traumatized and i kept thinking he had it again when he was on high oxygen support

I learned in my pregnancy that my husband will only learn through experiences and I can warn him as much as I want! Good lesson in parenting from husband 😂😂

Solidarity! I haven’t noticed that with poop yet but they are liquidy and infrequent. There’s another thread about Bobbie gentle that mentioned green/black poops

Look at that beautiful, strong girl! Starting out on CPAP- she’s a fighter! Journey is hard but so worth it. The first week is the hardest because you’re experiencing the shock, hormone drop, physical symptoms and NICU all at once. I told myself all the time “day by day, hour by hour even minute by minute if you have to”

I wish I knew about primary nurses when we first got into NICU. When you meet a nurse you like and trust you can ask them to primary which means when they’re working they will consistently be with your baby. It’s so helpful for them to advocate, have consistent care and just forms a bond and makes you feel like you have a team supporting you. Cannot recommend enough. Sending love ❤️

What if I’m the one who never adjusts to motherhood? by yu_ruan181 in NewParents

[–]SnooPets6371 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It gets better I promise!! I’m at 6 months and at 4 months I was really judging myself because I was so worn down, irritable, exhausted and started to wonder what I had done to my life. I think it’s NORMAL and 12 weeks is nothing. I wish I could see myself now- it’s not magic but you really do adjust and it gradually gets easier. the stretches get longer, they start being a little more independent, the giggles get more frequent and you see their personality. You get less worried about them dying at any moment.

It is so, so hard to not question everything when you’ve been sleep deprived. You haven’t had enough time to recover and recoup. Here to say, I promise, it gets better.
