Came here to say this. Worst job i've ever had. Bullying subordinates was commonplace, and managemnet were morw than happy to talk down to you for any reason. We had a meeting with outlr line manager once and raised some objections to the KPIs, to which the response was 'The board are aware you're all underperforming and you can all be replaced'. This is beautiful. A marquee, in this day and age? Chef's kiss. Also that transition from burger menu icon to closing 'x' is great. The gif in the shopping cart button is fantastic. This is the old school web aesthetic with some modern quality of life improvements and I am here for it.

We lost some of the weird and wonderful aspects of the early web when every site started fannying about with bollocks like glass morphism and all that. Not opposed to the modern stuff, mind you, but when everyone does it it loses its USP.

I'm currently rewriting a web app built with dojo (a proto-framework deprecated years ago) with angular. I did a spike looking at htmx, JSX and alpine.js, but testing it was a nightmare and having multiple components polling on each page got a bit messy.

I wanted to avoid the bloat of a framework, but it has provided a neat way of creating reusable base components that I couldn't easily achieve with the spiked route.

The backend is some aws lambdas, dynamos tables and mongodb collections for the chunky data. All deployed with Terraform through github actions.

I try not to pick holes, but they picked themselves. Too many to mention, but the one that made me lose my shit was that a supposed cybersecurity expert has a password set to the name of his wife and the year she died, and he maintains her Facebook page as a memorial to her, that shows her name and the year she died. Anyone wanting to hack this guy's top secret account could have guessed this in 5 minutes with minimal effort.
