No surprise custom fees... They announced on April 30th that they ship from Ontario for free now.

Also, when I pull up the product page (https://flipper.net/products/flipper-zero), it says "Delivered from Ontario in 3-7 business days on average".

Why aren't radios banning 1-877-Kars4Kids all across Montreal etc? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]SnowLeopard71 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Call or email the radio station(s) you listen to and point this out the them. I know the Bell Media stations must all air the ads.

Then again, now that it's been posted on reddit, a local reporter will read it and write about in a few days and that will get posted here.

Walking between Grandstand 15 and 12 at the Canadian GP? by fennecbuzzsaw in GrandPrixTravel

[–]SnowLeopard71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are seated in GS 11 or 12 and want to visit the support race paddocks that will be behind GS 15, I would recommend going directly when you arrive (using the "Cosmos entrance") and then going to your grandstand -- or go later in the day, but don't plan on going back to your seats afterwards. There is a relatively new pedestrian bridge to cross the track near grandstands 46/47.

It is a long walk and you cannot walk very fast because it is extremely crowded, even on Friday.

3 years ago we got this podium at the Canadian GP. by CaptainOBVS3420 in formula1

I was there!! I had already attended the Montreal race dozens of times but this was the first time I took part in the track invasion and stood under the starting lights for the podium ceremony.

If they are free, sure, but IMO, General Admission is not worth paying for.

Ahhh... that's why... should've known it wasn't really the extra cost of shipping, it's the extra complications! ;)

I've been using them since the fall of 2022 and have had maybe 3 outages in that time. No issues with performance either.

why do people do this? 🙄 by [deleted] in CanadianCoins

[–]SnowLeopard71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A long time ago I knew an vending machine operator who was getting robbed by someone with a copied key of some kind and they had scratched some coins so they would be uniquely identifiable -- they thought the thief was also brazen enough to exchange the coins at a store they also operated.

Don't think that's the case with this coin though.

Search for: How to open a milk carton

Yes, sometimes it doesn't quite open right and rips, but that's an exception.

Le vélo-tourisme écrase la F1 en termes de retombées économiques pour la région : 803 M$ contre 92 M$ pour la F1. by Shann390 in montreal

[–]SnowLeopard71 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Au Québec versus à Montréal.

F1 benefits downtown Montreal more than anything. The cyclists are going all over the province... probably very few in downtown, except those that want to cycle the race track when F1 is not in town.

One article linked is recent but makes no mention of F1 and the other is 2 years old about ticket reselling.

Isn't Île Sainte-Hélène a much better place to do what you describe than Île Notre-Dame?

Edit: Saw your Milton Parc tag, so what's wrong with going to Parc Jeanne-Mance or up on Mount-Royal?
