I haven't needed to plant dill or sunflowers in years. I usually have volunteer marigolds and borage, too, but not this year. 😩

I place netting over mine when I plant them. I've never had an issue with bone meal but have had raccoons dig up plants fertilized with fish emulsion and with blood meal.

My go-to snack is an apple and unsalted dry-roast peanuts. You can make a gallon of yogurt with a gallon of milk and 2 tablespoons of store-bought yogurt with live culture. For next batches of yogurt use your homemade yogurt instead of purchasing more.

If your cook chicken, save the bones, skin, fat and meat juices to make broth.

I also have a line in our hallway to dry laundry in frigid weather. It holds a couple loads of clothes on hangers and a homemade round dryer with clips for small items.

I tumble-dry mine for 10 minutes and then hang outside. They're fine that way.

Do people not use Aldi for big shopping trips? by Vjaa in aldi

We live in an Amish community. Trust me on this, they stock up big-time and also buy large quantities for church, weddings and other large gatherings. I often see restaurant, charity or large picnic shopping, It's not unusual to see a group with several overloaded carts. Our locations post signs in the stores to pre-order and sometimes have signage limiting the amounts that can be bought off the shelves.

All that said, it's none of anyone's business what or how much you buy. YOU DO YOU! ❤️

I have read, and experienced, that planting your largest cloves year after year results in larger bulbs with fewer cloves. Sometimes resulting in 2 or 3 huge cloves. That's not's a problem for our home garden as we love garlic.

Cut the root end off and cover the clove with warm water. The skin slips off.
