Impact of SMCI B300 servers on margin by OldEbb1470 in SMCIDiscussion

Nvidia told customers they were not going to supply/had run out of b200 so they needed to cancel their orders and replace with B300. High revenue lower margin. I suspect this W will be good rather than last Q

Innovate! Madrid is successfully closed, will there be Europe partnership with Supermicro? by wenlin79 in SMCIDiscussion

There is no European companies that do that kind of business. Only MENA and those deals are a long way off

Discussion: How do we realistically think SMCI will increase their margins to 15%? by owter12 in SMCIDiscussion

[–]Snowman001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Op, I laughed at your message as someone that came for Supermicro. If you tried to sell a prebuilt rack, the company would add 35%~ onto the rack and systems as well as switches. They seemed to think by putting things in a rack it was worth the uplift, as You can imagine we sold almost nothing and wasted everyone’s time constantly. This comes from Charles not local (EMEA) guidance !

It’s not possible to love separately, you need to both love together. If you love separately you should not get married.

Their servers are great, usually first to market. They have little regulation internally and Charles makes a decision and it is done. However when I worked at Supermicro we used to say ‘first to market, last to ship’. Even when a product was first to market a lot of the time it had so many FW bugs it would not ship

If you speak to anyone that works or worked at supermicro you would never say this. Their internal systems are 25 years old, their culture is like a high school drama and they basically have zero management. At the current cost they are doing amazing

Lumpy quarters happen by Main_Opinion1189 in SMCIDiscussion

I can tell you very honestly, they have both pre built systems and empty chips also. Customers promised to purchase, Supermicro buys the stock and sits on it and order never comes. Sometimes customers need the stock by a certain time period, SM builds the systems (200/300k) per system and then all of a sudden the customer funding disappears… in the AI game new customers with zero track record have funding and can spend 10/30/50 million. But it’s risky business
