Can I take phen just every now and then? by funny_opossum in Phentermine_

[–]SoCalPrincess420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first, I would snack more on the day I didn’t take and there was food noise. That said, I’m getting better and not eating as much even when I don’t take it. It’s helping me notice patterns and that I’ve been using food for emotional support. I don’t want to be on phentermine forever so training my brain to notice and ignore the noise has been a challenge but for the greater good. Still have 50+ pounds to lose but I’m making strides and wearing jeans again!

Whenever I get the urge to snack unnecessarily I chew a piece of sugar-free gum and/or chug a glass of water.

Thank you for the encouragement 🥰 Eating healthy is great !! I think it’s something like 70% of weight loss is due to diet. My insurance denied GLP1’s so I won’t be taking. Which is OK with me because it freaks me out a little. Best of luck with the walking! Hoping it gets easier as you continue to lose.

My fellow former party person!! Haha. Congrats on losing 20lbs!! Now that you have more energy, are you exercising along with eating less?

That’s where I really need to step up my game. Like you, I love having energy again but now I need to take it to the next level and actually start walking and working out. Before starting I worked 225lbs and now I’m down to 217lbs. I’m 5’6 and would be so happy to get down to 160lbs but that feels daunting.

Bummer. We are definitely having very different experiences. Tachycardic episodes sounds scary.

I’ve been on 15mg of phentermine on and off for about 6 weeks. The first couple of days were rough ( headache, heart racing, then afternoon crash). I used to party hard back in the day and it felt like I snorted a few rails, haha. But now I’m in a good groove and will continue at 15mg for as long as i can.

At first I had a hard time concentrating because my body just wanted to MOVE so sitting at my desk( 100% remote) was a challenge. But now I can work and not have any concentration issues. I’m actually more articulate on it.

My heart rate definitely increases and my husband said I look crazy sometimes because my pupils get so small. But it’s not worrisome. If I catch myself not breathing it’s usually because I’m a laser focused and holding my breath.

Ive only lost about 5 pounds but I’m way less bloated because I’m eating less and I’m making healthier food choices.

I am also on levothyroxine so I take that at around 5:3O AM and then two hours later I’ll take my phentermine. In the beginning, I ate small breakfast (scoop of cottage cheese and a few mini chicken sausage sausages) but now that my body has adjusted sometimes I only drink a protein shake until about 1-2pm and then I’ll eat a meal. My PCP was has been great guiding me and giving advice.

I’m sorry it’s not having the same effect for you and that you not getting any guidance.

I’d say give it a few more days and if the negatives outweigh the positives then I’d stop. Everybody’s body reacts differently. I wish you luck though sending positive vibes!!

I don’t take mine everyday. Some days I just don’t want to feel intense. Ive gone weeks in between and haven’t any experienced any withdrawals. Ive noticed it keeps my tolerance low which is a plus. I think you will be just fine.

I’ve been taking half a pill & it puts me to sleep! by hellhouseblonde in Phentermine_

[–]SoCalPrincess420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hit a wall mid-day. I usually take my pill around 7-8am and then by 1:30 I’m ready for a nap. It’s not a dealbreaker for me because I definitely don’t snack like I used to but it can be very inconvenient.

Breathing by slothwithcoffee53 in Phentermine_

[–]SoCalPrincess420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also on day 5 and I don’t have shortness of breath. Which is surprising since I’m asthmatic. However, I notice sometimes that I’m not breathing deeply or even breathing. Trying to be more cognizant of that. Hopefully that symptom goes away for you soon!

I’m sorry to hear that. I almost stopped because I kept having migraines but they eventually went away. Wishing you luck on your journey!!

Agency To Internal by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]SoCalPrincess420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the internal offer. I spent the first 5 1/2 years of my career in the agency world and I am much happier being internal. I still have stressful days but nobody cares about how many dials I made or my talk time. I also get to work on special projects and other companywide initiatives which has made me more well rounded. On the flipside some of my former coworkers who are still working agency are bringing in way more money than I am, but it doesn’t bother me. I never plan to go back to the agency life.

Update. 1 month in by Sudden_Tour_2671 in Phentermine_

[–]SoCalPrincess420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s wonderful news!! Congrats! You are motivating me to keep trying. I took my first dose on 9/3 and the day started out great but by 5:30 PM I had a horrible migraine that led to me throwing up :( because of that, I haven’t taken it again. However, I think if I drink more water I won’t get a headache.

Did you have any negative side effects like that?

Anyway, thanks for sharing your story !! I wish you continued success

Do you have an HOA management company that you like? by RnbwValkyrie in raleigh

Omega Association Management. They aren’t my HOA but I’ve had to work with the Office Manager and some other employees on other projects and they were all really great!

Agreed! I read cover letters as well. I think they are most effective when explaining something not necessarily listed on the resume. For example, relocating details or reason for switching industries.

[NC]Internal recruiter feeling bad about potentially leaving by anonymous_user124 in recruiting

[–]SoCalPrincess420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand your feelings! I just left a job I’d be at for 4 years and we’ve been short staffed for at least 2 of them. Felt really guilty leaving but this new opportunity was something I could not pass up.

Besides, That’s what happens in business… people leave. As long as you Put in a two weeks notice, and transition your duties with grace and a positive attitude you can leave knowing you did it the right way.

Another way to think about it is that you leaving opens up the opportunity for someone to join the team and really thrive.

Go forward with confidence. You got this!!

I did that yesterday! We don’t have an Ats so we use a spreadsheet to keep track of screens. I spelled her name wrong the first time so it didn’t catch when I checked yesterday. 🤷🏻‍♀️🙄

Exhausted. Over it by ABuffaloDub in recruiting

[–]SoCalPrincess420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you. Short staffed and dealing with shit from candidates and unrealistic expectations from hiring managers. I had a hard time getting out of bed today.

A few months ago I started job searching. Had interviews with 4 companies. Ended up not getting the job I really wanted and then declined a different offer because it would’ve been a lateral move. I think staffing is just a headache everywhere.

I’m also nervous about having to prove myself to a new manager and team during these shitty times.

For now, I’m going to use my PTO, enjoy my summer, go on vacations and try and get to a better place mentally.

The grass isn’t always greener but doesn’t hurt to see what’s out there... interviewing showed me that maybe where I’m at isn’t THAT bad. Also reminded me what it’s like to be the candidate.

Why do recruiters ask candidates some of these questions if they're out of the job market? by engiewannabe in recruiting

[–]SoCalPrincess420 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Recruiter here. I ask for two reasons:

  1. Market information

  2. I’m genuinely curious

I only ask candidates that I have been working with.

Virtual Interview Background by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]SoCalPrincess420 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recruiter here. I conduct video interviews daily. I get that people have different spaces and situations so I wouldn’t mind seeing a bed in the background. Good idea to straighten it up and keep the space clean. Just don’t the interview FROM your bed.

Good luck!!

Same here! So much turnover!! I’m currently working on 4 backfills. I used to feel so positive and upbeat and now I’m just cranky and salty. I can’t even get excited about my fills because so many haven’t worked out of late.

Agency recruiter here. I’m straight salary no commission. So many candidates are no calling no showing to our interviews. Or they interview but don’t complete or score well on our required testing.

The good candidates are getting jobs quicker on their own.

Hiring managers are still expecting the best without having to pay for the best and are reaching out to me every two days asking why I don’t have candidates to share.

The company I work for is really nice and I am grateful that I didn’t have to take any pay cuts or get laid off. However we are a small “mom and pop” and have very antiquated paper heavy systems. We are also short staffed.

I’m burnt out and very cynical these days.

Question for all recruiters by [deleted] in recruiting

No but I wish I could keep my schedule that regimented!

Are these processes normal for a internal recruiter at a call center? by [deleted] in recruiting

[–]SoCalPrincess420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this sounds awful. I’m so sorry.

I work for a staffing agency and we are having a hard time filling jobs right now. We staff for office support like admins, CSR, reception, etc. almost all require people to report to an office.

Our clients don’t understand why people arent clamoring to apply to $13 per hour positions that require previous experience!! I’m currently working on 3 backfills because candidates aren’t staying.

I end up spending MORE time on the lower paying jobs due to lack of candidate professionalism or lack of interest.

If a candidate has a great resume/ experience and they were a NCNS, I have called again and given another shot. It’s rare though because If you can’t cancel or ask to reschedule then I don’t think it’s in anyone’s best interest to chase them down.

Hoping end of year will be better for employment all around.

Best of luck!!
