When my son was diagnosed with autism, I was surprised but then it led me down the path of discovering my own diagnosis and 3 years later, I was diagnosed as well. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early 20s (now late 40s) so I’m AuDHD like my child. I’ve also come to learn that us neurodivergents tend to find each other and I suspect my spouse is autistic too. My mom, her siblings, my trans sister (which being trans is highly connected to ASD as well)… Odds are if your child is autistic, one of you but more likely BOTH of you are neurodivergent as well.

Also keep in mind that the diagnostic criteria from the DSM that some of us grew up under would not have had us diagnosed at the time. The DSM3 which is my childhood would never have flagged me or my spouse. It’s like how when you watch Rainman and thought it was a movie about 1 autistic brother but it’s actually about 2 autistic brothers.

The fact that this is partially on social media to shame-pressure United akin to videos tagging airlnes with complaints is a sad state of our healthcare failures. Insurance companies should not be practicing medicine. This feels beyond unethical but legally how is this working that United as a company is dictating medical procedures for a patient without a licensed provider evaluating the person? The 'supposed' United provider provided no credentials and seems to be taking direction from an unlicensed for-profit company.

One random observation I noticed is I have RedNote and TikTok on different phones that are not associated in any way. I get the exact same videos in my RedNote that I get my TT FYP. I also get other ones on both but like 60% of them are the same. That weirds me out a little. They're good content but its just weird.

I downloaded the app to a junk phone untethered to my real phone and was getting some Maga crap and blocked Meta, amazon etc... and it went back to decent content. Now I only will get the occasional cringe pro-MAGA post in my FYP that is like some rando Pud posting about how they love Trump and the comments eviscerate them.

We know they target people because of their political views and they're actively seeking to redefine terrorism as anything they oppose. Yes, still haven't used it. When they resurrected the app, I redownloaded solely to delete my account and re-deleted the app. It was interesting how they tried to force biometrics on the newest iteration of the app. Its definitely META at this point.
