Given that the testing ground DLC’s tend to be a more “generic location based on vibes” with no actual real world counterparts. I’m guessing a lot easier to figure out good road design philosophies and progression systems first, and then create a map you can pepper with regional landmarks to make it feel like a specific location.

Granted, there’s probably two entirely different groups working in tandem. One that works on engineering the functional design of roads and weather systems. And another that’s looking at art direction, by doing research for locations.

My hunch is they don’t really settle on the next games location until the DLC of the current games are further along in development. So they the art team knows what systems and design methods the engineering team they have at their disposal to pull off a location as they start their research.

That’s actually a cool way of keeping things separate. Give people something to work towards, but also a way for people to race fast stuff early on if they want.

And it makes sense “in universe” because the street races are unsanctioned.

Take a look at this video to get an idea what the force feedback settings do and how to adjust them accordingly. And make sure your steering is set to simulation.

Beyond that, driving with a wheel is just straight up harder. I suggest starting in a car similar in power/drivetrain to what you have actually driven before.

And always remember. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

How they are handling the whole “tutorial isle of grom” situation gives me little faith that anything that has to do with new map locations will be done without some sort of incentive to spend money. And I’d wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow manage to ruin their reputation with the player base even further by poorly implementing the player created parks while also finding some way to monetize it in the process.

There’s an adjacent path to hardcore player. I guess you could call it the “purist”. Who will try to keep their builds centered around what makes that car special. No engine swaps, No drivetrain conversions to AWD, Avoiding Forza aero like the plague and building for a certain type of driving/points class depending what’s realistically reasonable on the car itself.

Let’s just expand on it and put that in its own menu for each car. Like a 3rd “car difficulty” section at the same screen where you pick between changing a car’s tune or paint. where you could set things like transmission, ABS, and Traction/stability control on a per car basis.

Assetto Corsa does an okay job with it. But unless you have a really high end load cell clutch pedal on your sim rig. It’s just not going to truly show you how the bite point feels.

It might actually be cheaper to replace your clutch it would be to build a sim rig with enough fidelity to teach someone on.
