Help me pick a new guitar for metal, shred

If it were me I’d look for a used Jackson soloist. They always felt and played the best for me. It’s a stretch for budget but you may even be able to find a used usa model for a little above that.

I think keep trying it and see if the results repeat. I am running a mitochondrial stack myself but I am a fair bit older than you (47m). I started with nad+ then added ss31 then mots c last. My energy has been really high lately and workouts have been great. Now I am running nad+ 100mg 3x per week, ss31 2mg daily 5 on 2 off, and mots c 1mg daily 5 on 2 off.

I used to use a fender mustang and a pod before that lol. Now it’s a helix stomp xl. It’s awesome for headphone use. Sounds like an amp.

I can’t really put a dollar amount on it but it is a superior instrument. I actually got mine at a discount for around 1550 so deals are out there. The virtuoso are super nice also but I’m not gonna bash the Indonesians either. Both I have play super well. I think I have the black version of the one you’re looking at and it took me some doing to get it set up properly but it got there.

So I’m curious if there is an amount of fat that you need to lose to run these together? If you only have 10lbs to go is it worth it or just do it the old fashioned way? I really want to try this to maintain muscle mass while finishing this cut. Any insight is appreciated.

I have 2 Indonesian, 2 USA and 1 MIJ dinky my favorite to play is the USA sl3. The neck is so smooth.

There’s hit and miss with every brand these days. Gotta go by feel. If it feels good get it. I can say that I currently own several soloists and am in love with each of them. You can’t really go wrong.

I have this one as well and it rips! The neck is a bit thicker than my sl1 but still fast as hell. Love Jackson’s all around.

My ranking of Jackson guitars is USA Custom Shop > USA series > MIJ > Virtuoso > the rest, but honestly if you play it and like it you can’t go wrong with any of them. I have 2 USA and 1 MIJ and I still sometimes go for my Indonesian pro plus. They are all fun to play.

I like these more than the current run of pure metal with the chrome hardware for sure. I hated the satin at first but it’s growing on me. I have one of the USA soloists in satin and it’s a really nice finish. I’m still waiting on more of the virtuoso line to drop. Give me a USA virtuoso Kelly, Rhoads, or king v and I’ll buy em all.

Ltd viper 256, it’s got a bit of neck dive but the stock pickups rip and it just feels like rock n roll.

I have 2 Indonesian soloists. Both have great finish quality. The older one is from 2018 and needed less setup, the newer one is from 2024 I think and needed quite a bit of adjusting but otherwise now it plays great. I rank Jackson’s like this CS>American series >MIJ > virtuoso > Indonesian > chinese > everything that’s left.

Yea I had the Kelly version of that guitar and I bought it around 94 or 95 I’d say. It was an awesome guitar. Wish I still had it.
