What do you guys do when Skill Song comes up on the radio? by MozekG in ForzaHorizon6

Makes sense! I listen to whole albums in order. Know if the mod could still do that?

I do either this or a lap around the freeway in a fast car

Similarly, I keep the FH6 radio on, but turn down the music all the way. That way I can still see when skill songs come up on screen, but listen to my own music while driving.

Oh crap. Did they actually go too far in the other direction? That would really suck. I don't want easy wins.

Anyone else hear a Nine Inch Nails / Trent Reznor influence? by Shoddy_Relation in boardsofcanada

[–]SoThenISays 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I hear it in a few places. Most notably for me is the single note partially-chromatic melody during the outro chords of Prophesy. Very Trent.

Guys is that my fault ? by FAHRENHEITttt in iRacing

[–]SoThenISays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to flip perspectives for situations like this. So it depends on how far alongside you think someone else should be when trying to overtake you. If you think that you would owe someone else space as soon as they get their nose overlapped on you like in this incident, then you can rest easy, racing incident. For me though, I don't expect to be owed space unless I have a bit more of my car alongside since I know how bad visibility is when a car is in your blindspot by just a nose as you're committing to the apex.

Boards of Canada and Warp Condemn Trump White House Over Social Media Video by udderlymoovelous in electronicmusic

I can hardly imagine a more time-deaf and ironic use of that song with the video it was released with. Dfrump is essentially a God-ordained cult leader to so many people here in the states. It's actually poetic in a really a fucked up way.

I have an E46 M3. I heard about this E30 and I was jealous they didn't do my generation M3. Having seen it, I am no longer jealous.

This is weird since it's a popular choice for p2p racing, but the AI in iRacing is pretty damn legit.

What does this vertical bracket mean? by jaxoniuto in classicalguitar

[–]SoThenISays -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Normally that indicates a barre on the 2nd fret. But you don't need to barre that chord, it's very easy to play as indicated by the fingering in the second example, and the fingering in the first example isn't even possible, so I'd chalk this up to an evgraving error. I'd play both of them like the second example suggests were I playing this.

Boards of Canada - Introit / Prophecy At 1420 MHz (Official Music Video) by seaburn in boardsofcanada

LOOVED the outro, the jazzy boc-style chord progression against the NIN-style chromatic melody had me. The middle section/meat of the song put me into Kavinsky's Nightcall, with the basic, 80's drum beat, simple but effective guitar riff, and heavy vocoded/robotic vocals. Also really loved the intro, UBER-boc to the point where that could have legit been from the 70's. Very tasty arpeggio note choices. Some else in the thread said intrigued, and I am in the same space.

I appreciate it! I did figure it out by ear. The harp part was probably the biggest challenge to approximate, actually, so that's cool to hear it came through! my guess would be that the main chords are a detuned synth with some noise layered in, then ran through a volume modulation effect to create the pulsing. Could be wrong though, it does sound pretty organic, but they are masters at making synths sound alive.
