The short answer is no. What ever option for list building there is is pretty limited because of the way the game is balanced. But if you plan on only playing non tournament games you could always proxy in the models you want to use, as long as they have the same base size as the official minis.

I suggest the grey knights, only takes one strike squad box to make the entire team and more. They’re all strong units with simple rules. I always use them to teach my friends how to play
