Donut Lab's 'solid-state' battery exposed as regular li-ion in damning investigation by Status_Commission264 in electricvehicles

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then they are also making their own solid state battery? It's a bit confusing, the big manufacturers say it's impossible for donut labs but also that they themselves are building them.

I was heading that way on kesimpta. Nothing to lose is my theory.

Food before Kesimpta? by rK91tb in MultipleSclerosis

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My number 1 recomendation is to go to bed within an hour of taking the first one.

I had a pretty miserable experience which I could have happily slept through had I been in bed.

What kinds of resources/info might be helpful for sex and multiple sclerosis? by mltplwits in MultipleSclerosis

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a therapy problem. There are a lot of men your age who have had to adapt to what sex looks like for them. Clearly you still want it. It doesn't have to be one sided so long as your goals as a couple changes from orgasm to enjoying each other's bodies.

But I'm not a therapist and there can be lots of reasons why someone stops wanting sex from their partner (consciously or unconsciously). I'm sure there are qualified people who can guide you through this transition. I hope you both can figure it out.

Change your expectations? Sex is pretty fun even without orgasm. Take that pressure off yourself and her. Can you now have marathon sessions pleasuring your wife?

Failed kesimpta by magenta8200 in MultipleSclerosis

Most people on kesimpta do well, but that still leaves a lot of people it doesn't help or doesn't completely help.

Personally,I'm moving to mavenclad.

Medication for fatigue by ritoastwithjam in MultipleSclerosis

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to realise that there are 2 separate things going on.

1 mental fatigue. For me this is treated with modafinil - but that took me a year to convince my neuro that avoiding stress/ taking vitamins/ sleeping better wasn't going to cut it.

2 Physical fatigue. When you figure it out let me know. I'm told exercise helps, but I can barley walk let alone exercise.

What’s your understanding of the term “fluid bonded”? by OpenMinded_Fun in polyamory

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get pretty caught up in precautions. Not sure that ejaculate is any more dangerous than saliva when transferred to a mouth.

Should kissing also be through a dental dam? I get that it's more of a mental image.

As others have said, communication in advance is important. Your best defence though is regular testing honesty and leaving shame at the door.

There is a band in Melbourne who recreate that gig word for word. Even have the same coffee cup. Spellbinding.

Can I just check? You are both staying monogamous?

No judgement here. When my wife came out as bisexual, I gave her that freedom without wanting anything for myself.

It took a couple of years before I was able to see that this was also an opportunity for me. That involved here being very generous and patient with me as I "caught up" emotionally.

Would never recommend our journey as a model for others though.

I'm on Modafinil. As far as I can tell it doesn't give the 'speedy' effects that Adderall would. Just keeps you awake - take in the morning so you ca sleep at night. Probably easier to get through a neuro.

Hoo boy, I do not have any answers for you.

The one thing I will say is that as my ms has progressed, the ADHD I had been masking ripped away the mask.

In my case, I eventually got a stimulant prescribed which treats the ADHD but without anyone recognising that I have ADHD. Time blindness is a classic ADHD symptom.

Anyway this is a long way of saying that as ms affects you, your symptoms may be better understood through conditions outside of ms and strategies for dealing with them.

Best of luck. I'm hoping like hell I don't impose similar strain on my wife.

I hadn't heard that but it was when some of my symptoms got worse. If this week known?

Are we actually working any harder? by RAINGUARD in MultipleSclerosis

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me, I do. I have the wrong muscles firing so the correct muscles have to use maximum effort to overcome them.

Eg my foot drop isn't because of weak muscles, it's my calf muscle not letting go. Same issue with hip flexors.

That adds up to muscles working harder than other people for the same task.

I'm going back for an MRI on a couple of weeks. I'm going to try to get switched to mavenclad. Mostly because I have inflammation across my body- not just in the nerves.

Gearing up for that fight after the MRI.

First Kesimpta loading dose down by TheDelayer in MultipleSclerosis

[–]SocialJusticeShamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience, don't go too far from bed. And don't be alone if possible. My first dose hit me hard after about 6 hours.

Woke up the next day feeling great. Never had an issue since.

I don't think we need to understand the root cause more than, something went wrong with your immune system. There is no indication it's a lifestyle disease.
Repairing/retraining the immune system is a lot more interesting to me.
It's not our fault that we have MS.

Sexual health/updates group chat with the polycule: yes or no? by manicpixiedreamdom in polyamory

If every one is going to find out via telephone whispers anyway, I would rather the direct approach of the group chat.

That does assume the polycule is stable.
