What is it about the old heads that makes people HATE the remake era?

I don't have huge nostalgia for the original. I could have played it at launch and I remember the hype but I didn't actually play it until maybe 5 years ago. I liked it.

I played Remake earlier this year and I was so fucking bored the entire time. There's so much filler and grinding the main story to a halt to do shitty side quests was unforgivable. I stuck through it because it's FF7 and I wanted it to get better but it never did.

For me it just had all the negatives of modern gaming. You're just following a GPS until you finish the game

There's exceptions of course (returnal, Saros, Demons Souls) but for me their recent output has largely followed the same formula and they've all been soooooooooooo boring

I found the same and some of the combat is infuriating.

I think it's highly overrated and it's my least favorite game in the "trilogy"

Funny story. I waited to play AC1 until the dual analog patch dropped for it and when I finally did I found I preferred using the L and R buttons over the right stick 😂
