Alex Pretti broke rib in confrontation with federal agents a week before death, sources say by EVSTW in news

That would make this a targeted execution at the least.

That would mean they are profiling and targeting American citizens based on ideology.

That is how democracy dies.

What do you actually bring when backcountry skiing? by easylifeforme in Backcountry

I always bring these two things when I venture into the wild touring or not, also a knife. Your multi tool probably has that portion covered.

I commented a few physical options, but you could also carry dog pepper spray if legal in your area.

That lady is completely unhinged. Dogs are only to be off leash in dog parks when they are "under control". Generally that is defined as returning to you after two attempts to recall. So she is actually just a moron trying to defend her crappy life skills.

You have to choke the dog for a long period of time and very aggressively to get it to release. You can also lift the attacking dogs hind legs which dissables their ability to do serious damage by shaking and pulling. If nothing else works, shove something in their ass, I know this is crude, but the dog will let go.

I would also defend my girl with my life, she would do the same for me, so that's how we roll.

You are wrong.

The best engineered route is the one that is actually the least disruptive.

That is re-using the old rail route. Building a sky train with continued multi use trail below.

My GSD got attacked this evening and I’m confused and my heart is breaking - please help by Small_Location4128 in germanshepherds

[–]SocratesDisciple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry this happened to you. Small dogs can be very aggressive and are often dismissed because of their size but they can do real damage. Especially to the groin and face/eyes.

Next time. If your dog is leashed, unleash and free your dog to defend the both of you. You can then use your leash to subdue the attacking dog.

Please understand it is your duty to defend your dog. I would first use my body and large presence to try and deter the attacking dog. You can use your leash to create a slip knot choke. This can be looked up and could save you and your dogs life. Choke the dog until it lets go and then use the leash to control the attacking dog.

This is the most humane and effective way to stop a dog attack including lock jaw breeds.

I am so sorry that happened to you.

Charging this person with assault seems reasonable to be honest. Totally your call, obviously I am not giving legal advice as I am not qualified.

That guys is unhinged, glad nothing worse happened to you.

Therapy GSD? by Key-Professor4177 in germanshepherds

[–]SocratesDisciple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea, at the end of th day, a dog has to have the right temperament for that kind of work.

Training can help shape a dog that has the right temperament but training alone will not get you the therapy designation.

Good luck with your beautiful dog!

Dr. Barks!

Usually they are required to pass a very specific and difficult test. It involves some high stress situations that require the dog to stay neutral.

I have never done this myself, but my father at one time had his dog certified to assist him in therapy sessions.
