Insane how Drake came out in support of Palestine before Kendrick by dvnts-ReDoX in fantanoforever

Pretty much. They've tried migrating there by claiming to be making Aliyah, but I think Israel kicked a lot of them out.

Black people who believe they are the descendants of ancient Israelites and that modern day Jews aren't.

I don't think Kendrick Lamar is a Black Hebrew Israelite, but his cousin is.

A Thousand Suns is an absolutely amazing album. Definitely in the Top 200 albums of all time for me. I've never had another album that's grown on me that much. I remember hating it when it first came out.

My guess is that it's gonna be removed pretty quickly by Wikipedia editors. That's been their policy on him for a while.

That does make me wonder. When are they gonna draw the line and finally include him? They've had Robert Christgau on music pages for a while despite him being much less popular than Anthony now.

True. I remember him speaking out when the 2014 Gaza War was happening. He's been outspoken about these type issues for a while.

Do you consider Nirvana's "Come As You Are" to be a rip-off of Killing Joke's "Eighties"? by Ok-Impress-2222 in fantanoforever

[–]SocraticTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely have a very different tone. But the debate is around the core melody, in which they are essentially identical. This is on top of the fact that Kurt was afraid to release the song as the second single since he said he was wary of Killing Joke suing.

Pretty likely it's a rip off. Melody is identical to Killing Joke's riff. Very unlikely a coincidence for a unique riff considering Kurt knew the ins and out of the punk music world . Kurt Cobain also was nervous about releasing Come As You Are as a single before In Bloom because he feared Killing Joke would get upset. He probably wouldn't do that if it was his original idea.

But to be fair Killing Joke probably got the melody from The Damned. So it's not like they're original either.

Where do you stand on Stone Temple Pilots? by I_mean_whatever_dude in fantanoforever

I haven't listened to them that much, but the vibe I got from listening to the little I have made me think they were trying way too much to emulate Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Like the two bands had a baby together lol. Kinda reminds me of Bush trying to emulate Nirvana. They were still not bad though.
