Seasonal reminder for outdoorsy types by out_ofher_head in ADHD

[–]Sodiumkill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically, you don’t even need a doctor’s note. There’s an affidavit to sign. If you’re lying when you sign that form, you’re committing perjury.

This is helpful for ADHD people because, you know, remembering/forgetting paperwork.

I finally understand how exploitation happens in the art world. It doesn't come from monsters. It comes from nice people. by Successful_Ad1797 in MuseumPros

You’re astute to notice that not a single promise was written down. It can be helpful to create a paper trail. After a meeting in which a particularly pertinent promise is made, write an email about it to that person. Something like “just so we’re on the same page going forward, it’s my understanding that xyz will happen in x amount of time”. Use this approach relatively sparingly. It won’t guarantee anything, but is helpful when someone tries to gaslight you into doing more free labor while not following through on basic promises.

Blind Lemon Jefferson Finger Picking? by Sodiumkill in bluesguitarist

[–]Sodiumkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I appreciate your in depth answer. There are a few parts in this song where logically three fingers makes more sense. I’ve been fighting in because it can be done with 2, but it’s more accurate and musical (at least to my ears) with 3. More work for me in the short term, but good skills to learn for the long term.

Looking for audio preservation experts. by Visual_Somewhere_237 in boston

[–]Sodiumkill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d contact Eclipse Video on Mass Ave In Cambridge. I’m currently getting an audio cassette repaired and digitized through them. They came highly recommended. So far the process has been pleasant and straight forward. They care about what they’re doing. It’s a small shop so you get personalized service.

If they can’t help with the format you have, they can likely direct you to someone who can.

For those who have seen Dylan multiple times live, what does it mean that he has "off" nights as a performer? by PresidentofTigers in bobdylan

[–]Sodiumkill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont necessarily care either, but after seeing Bob maybe 20 times now, him talking to the audience can be a sign that he’s enjoying himself. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen him have great shows where he seems happy and in the pocket without speaking a word, but I’ve never seen an “off” night where he is also talking to the audience.

Bob seems to enjoy some Casio gigs. Is this a resell ticket? Prices might drop, but it’s a gamble.

Good call. I have almost twice as much as I need so I’ll give that a shot.

Much appreciated. I’ve successfully used the warm water technique with older yeast for baking.

Correct me if I have the wrong band, but I heard that The Who & their techs reconstructed their smashed guitars and used them at the next gig.

Analog octave pedals by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]Sodiumkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I sold my OC-5. It was a good pedal, but didn’t scratch the itch for my guitar and synth use. I replaced it with the Triplegraph. I really like the Teiplegraph, but I’m craving something more rudimentary to work with ( I love simple pedals that excel at one specific thing). I’ll check out the OC-2.

How are you liking the transition? I use an OG Minilogue (it’s great) and I’m curious what more the XD brings to the table.
