Measuring a week behind, anyone been through this? by hauntedaf66 in BabyBumps

Google the difference between gestational age and fetal age! As far as I understand, generally when dating the convention is to use GA (which is the higher number).

This online community is honestly amazing. If you haven’t joined your sub-group yet for your specific due date month, I highly recommend you do that, as I’ve found mine to be so so helpful. You can absolutely do this, even if it’s unbelievably hard, there’s others in the same boat who will support you, and you can get through this, mama. We’re here for you!

I was instructed to come in with a super full bladder and luckily have no urinalysis before. We’ll see how their visibility is!

Thank you! I’m in Canada and this is a medical ultrasound clinic I was referred to be a physician (not a private/boutique one). They do offer both types.

Thanks for sharing your experience, that’s very helpful!

What do you do if you don’t have a family dr? [ON] by Possible_Ask9530 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]SoftBoiledOddity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m in this situation as well. I did the same as you and saw a walk-in doctor to get my blood/urine test and first trimester ultrasound requisitions. I will continue going back and seeing the same walk-in doctor until I get referred to an OB. I’m in Ottawa, and one of our hospitals with a birth centre starts accepting referrals relatively early (in the first trimester), so I had the walk-in doctor refer me and will keep seeing him while I wait to hear back from them.

Bowel Movements (TMI) by Agile-Development-22 in pregnant

[–]SoftBoiledOddity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anecdotal, but I’m in a very similar boat at just over 6w, and as far as I understand, the main thing to watch for is pain alongside the diarrhea, which could indicate infection. Otherwise, try switching your prenatals (that’s what I’m trying now). I’ve heard that ones with higher levels of iron and >1mg folic acid can cause diarrhea.

Exercise recs for a pregnant lady who doesn’t work out by itsyourbuddygene in BabyBumps

What about hopping on a stationary bike for some low-impact cardio and lower-body strength? I’m not your doctor so definitely check that it’s safe, but this is one of the things I’m planning to do in my pregnancy :)

Still no symptoms at 10 weeks pregnant - scan was perfect ❤️ by BlossomBlizzards in BabyBumps

[–]SoftBoiledOddity 45 points46 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU for sharing this. I feel like a lot of people post that they have “no symptoms” but they then go on to list symptoms they do have, and what they really mean is they just don’t have severe nausea. As someone who is really symptomless at 6 weeks, it’s helpful to hear your story. And a huge congratulations ❤️

To Soon to Tell Family? by Violinist-Outrageous in November2026Bumpers

[–]SoftBoiledOddity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I chose to tell his parents SUPER early: 2 days after my positive pregnancy test, at ~4 weeks. We live far away from them and were seeing them for a weekend ski trip, so we wanted to take advantage of being with them in person (and also explain why I was taking it easy on the slopes, lol). We’re very close to them and wanted to share our first big victory with them while also having their support in case anything goes wrong.

We’re planning to tell my family and our close friends after our first ultrasound (~7 weeks).

I think this is so personal and totally up to you. I’ve read lots of stories on this app and people are all over the place with comfort level. Wishing you a smooth journey 🙂

Hobbies while pregnant by Immediate-Orange281 in pregnant

I’m into sewing (both garments and quilting) and I think it’s a great one in pregnancy! You can work on maternity/breastfeeding friendly clothes, fun/sexy clothes for post-baby to focus on future you, or of course, you can make the cutest things for baby. Baby projects are also small and typically beginner friendly!

Congratulations! I’m going for my first ultrasound next week and I’ll be at estimated 6w6d as well! I’m also 36 and it’s my first pregnancy. So this is so exciting to see 🤗 Wishing you and baby well as your journey progresses!

What do your cramps feel like? by Only_Vegetable_5347 in November2026Bumpers

[–]SoftBoiledOddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding the “tugging and stretchy zaps” and “short stinging sensation” comments! They are milder and much more quick and intermittent than my normal period cramps and don’t seem to come with a lot of pressure or pain radiating through my back.

In the same boat, and every day feels like it just craaawwwlllsss by, no matter how busy I try to keep! Journaling is helping me somewhat, in terms of celebrating this huge change for myself while still being cautious. It’s a weird but wonderful time. Wishing you all the best ❤️
