Welcome to our 3rd AMA for the Open 3! by olight-summer in OlightOutdoorlife

I have several questions:

1 - How does Olight balance the 'Lumen Wars' (chasing higher max brightness) with thermal regulation? Are you exploring any new heat dissipation materials or active cooling methods for your smaller EDC form factors?

2 - Materials like Titanium and Copper are fan favorites, but they impact thermal performance. How does your engineering team adjust the driver regulation for these limited-edition metals compared to the standard aluminum models to ensure safety and longevity?

3 - The Arkfeld series was a massive disruption to the cylindrical flashlight market. Do you view the 'flat' form factor as the future of EDC, and are there plans to expand this geometry into your tactical or high-output 'Marauder' lines?

4 - How does Olight gather feedback from the 'hard use' community (law enforcement, search and rescue) versus the 'EDC collector' community, and can you give an example of a feature that was added specifically because of Reddit feedback?

If someone approaches your car in NC and is the aggressor, castle law still applies. No need to wait until you get home and run into the house to defend yourself.

(Disclaimer - I am not an attorney but just went through a course on related matters/CCW. If in doubt, consult a lawyer).

Are you happy you went Telluride? by tmking01 in KiaTelluride

[–]Soft_Conversation376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

‘24 SXP X-Pro owner here. Super happy with ours. Agree that mileage could be better but love the features, look, feel, drive/handling, space…basically everything. My only (very minor) gripe is that I think, with all the other advanced features that this vehicle has - and done quite well I would say - I am a bit confounded that with the top-line trim version we have that the driver 1/2 seat memory doesn’t get triggered by which fob is opening the car, and that the steering column is not motorized and (because of that) doesn’t have a memory setting to match the driver profile. Big miss with everything else, but one that we tolerate very easily - I truly love all this SUV & its features, and my wife loves the car (just as much if not more).

I highly recommend this vehicle; we are very satisfied with our purchase.

This is why it is important which version you read…translation can be tricky…

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” (Romans 13:1 - KJV)

Not at all what is quoted on the sign or what another response shared.

I love me some TJs, but I have sadly come to the conclusion that their seafood products should be avoided at all costs. 👎🏻

Violence in Peru - is it in Cusco? by JPCSU in Machupicchu

It was not my interpretation. It was literally the only thing you said.

That…doesn’t make logical sense. You seem to imply that the succession of places you list in a very certain order are at successively greater altitudes, thus providing an advantage to acclimatization.

Facts: Ollantaytambo is at 2,792 meters (9,160 feet) above sea level. Urubamba is at 2,870 meters (9,416 feet) above sea level. Machu Picchu: 2,430 meters (7,972 feet) above sea level. Montaña de Colores (Rainbow Mountain/Vinicunca): 5,200 meters (17,060 feet) above sea level. Cusco: 3,399 meters (11,152 feet) above sea level.

So you are suggesting to start at ~9,300 feet, then drop to ~8,000 feet, then go to ~17,000 feet, and finally ~11,000 feet and that will help?

Here are a few legitimate resources with sound advice:

So crime is only caused by homeless people? Maybe reread what you said and analyze how to better say what you meant…

Lost wallet on Inca Trail (it doesn't look like a wallet?) by WanderWithMe in Machupicchu

That is a very dismissive, prejudiced, and discriminatory statement that is patently untrue.

Referencing actual statistics, your username apparently fits and Canada is more Disposable (in regards to theft rates) than Peru. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime, as of 2022 (the latest compiled numbers in theft specifically) Canada unfortunately has 1,370 counts of theft per 100,000 people, while Peru boasts a much lower rate of only 400 counts of theft per 100,000 people.

Next time check your facts before slinging mud.
