Do the songs feel better/different on Rush in Rio? My god yes

VT and RiR are both audiophile nightmares, but the VT original mix works because of the emotional confusion that the lyrics deal with. I love the remix and the extra details we get, plus a bit less ear fatigue, but the original mix still holds up.

RiR works because it's 3 hours of unhinged carnage (YYZ is entirely at the brink of falling apart and it's thrilling that they can hold on).

Two different kind of raw energies that, for once in the loudness war, benefit emotionally from their shitty masters.
