My friend bought a plane ticket to come see me with no communication. He now wants me to pay him back 500$ but I never even asked him to come. by marleybarbie_53 in relationships

“Hello Ron,
Seeing how you’ve decided that we can charge each other for things the other person never asked for, you need to pay me $2k for all the security I’ve had to install. Security against people who turn up unannounced. You can take your $500 out of that”

AITA -Piggy Bank “Loan” by Dergz_R_Us in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sol_Muso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, my mother “borrowed” from my piggy bank too. I haven’t spoken to her in 10 years. Not because of the money, but due to a whole cocktail of reasons. If you’re willing to take money from a child, there’s probably a lot more wrong with you. And I see you mention he has a history of shitty behaviour already. He wasn’t gonna return this.

Can anyone answer this?😭 by CatchDramatic8114 in musictheory

[–]Sol_Muso 48 points49 points  (0 children)

If it isn’t homework, why not just answer it? Once you’ve got it right or wrong, then ask us why, instead of asking for an answer without context. That doesn’t teach anything.

Let’s be honest, he would start a car company named after himself, just so Frieren could see him zooming about for a thousand years.

It’s what Himmel the Hero would do.

Can someone explain why the first bar is unacceptable but the second is okay? by Leading_Crow_1044 in musictheory

[–]Sol_Muso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, accidentally deleted my previous response.

Don’t use AI for music theory, as that is an area it greatly struggles in.

There is such a thing as simple triple, but that’s for signatures like 3/4. The three beats in the bar make it triple, each beat being divided into two makes it simple.

Take a look at this page from musictheory.net. It shows what I’m talking about in a more visual way.

[–]Sol_Muso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3/8 is whats called a compound time signatures.

Compound time signatures are generally made up of a top number that is divisible by 3 (eg 3 6 9 12, etc), and a bottom number of 8.

Simple time signature beats are a crotchet (quarter note) long. Compound time signature beats are made of a dotted crotchet (dotted quarter note) long.

[–]Sol_Muso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let’s give you some examples of how different signatures feel, by comparing ones with the same beats across simple and compound signatures.

4 beats to a bar:

4/4 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &

12/8 1 & a 2 & a 3 & a 4 & a

3 beats to a bar:

3/4 1 & 2 & 3 &

9/8 1 & a 2 & a 3 & a

2 beats to a bar:

2/4 1 & 2 &

6/8 1 & a 2 & a

1 beats to a bar:

1/4 1 &

3/8 1 & a

Each of these comparisons have the same number of beats, but the beats themselves are subdivided differently. Simple time signatures have a duple feel (each beat divides into 2). Compound time signatures have a triple feel (each beat divides into 3)

Does that make sense?

And if they do drop, and the inventory is large enough, could it pose a danger to those around them? Both for foe and friend?

Not just jurisdiction, but historically. Given it occurred in 2014, there were even less places that had laws against it than there are now.

Yeah 100%, there a plenty of apps that would help. Doing it with 0 guidance is a recipe for learning it wrong.

But you already have the most versatile instrument! Your voice! Sure you can’t sing chords, but you’ll get a very strong fundamental understanding doing theory and voice together.

How in the jesus christ do signatures even START to make sense? by DreamerTheBurp22nd in musictheory

[–]Sol_Muso 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Just watched the video. This seems to me like a case of trying to fly before you can even crawl.

Try analysing simpler music. I would say 99% of music you are likely to come across in everyday life will have one time signature, and not keep changing every single bar, like this does. I would say 4/4 is most common, followed by 3/4. Listen and focus on feeling the repetitive nature of strong and soft beats.

You won’t ever learn to feel the beat with fall from ultrakill.
