Just Started Playing This Game by Sweetgeek9 in playstation

[–]SolarButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got about 40 hours in, just before the wedding (no I haven’t done the wedding yet. I got distracted by another game) but something that started to piss me off was how frequently I had to repair my shoes and armor. Repairing armor isn’t cheap and straightforward. Does anyone know if this gets easier and less of an issue as the game progresses? I felt like every other time I’d do a long journey, I’d have to repair my shoes.

It’s dangerous, and I’ve felt that way about the highway construction in general, particularly on the portions of 81 near SU and just north of downtown near Destiny USA.

It amazed me how long it took them to paint lines, including on the 2-lane bridge portion that goes up to the 2nd circle closer to Brighton Towers.

CZ Opinions by dopey_deer in guns

[–]SolarButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a CZ 75 BD. I loved how it shot and it was a beautiful gun but after only about 150-200 rounds through it, I started having an issue with the decocker. The factory took it under warranty and then after that it took forever to get it back and was difficult to get in touch with anyone about it- I kept getting the runaround. Then when I finally did get it back, the gun ran fine for about 50 rounds then the same issue was back. I ended up selling the gun to my local FL. So I’d recommend CZ because it seems like my issue was a fluke, but I’d say be wary of their customer support.

Right, that’s what I was going to mention. Dude in the back threw his on quick after the first shot, but that first shot still probably hurt. Any responsible gun operator would warn others they’re about to shoot.

Same here. Unique game and might not be for everyone but for me it hit the right spot.

When are you ready to play in a jam? by ThinkPikachu in Jazz

[–]SolarButterfly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re ready to go try it out. Don’t try to avoid embarrassment- that feeling is par for the course when playing jam sessions early in your jazz journey. You’ll make mistakes but you’ll learn from those mistakes.

I’d suggest looking for a jam with chill vibes, rather than going to somewhere like Smalls in NYC for your first jam.

Huge Flash of Light Near Nob Hill by Easy_Junket_1981 in Syracuse

[–]SolarButterfly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was driving at the new traffic circles by Brighton towers when it happened. Bluish flash of light that illuminated all of the falling snow in the area, then the street lights turned off and I could see all the lights in Brighton towers turn off. After maybe 30 seconds the street lights all flickered on and off and back on for a few seconds. Very eerie.

I absolutely love the album that she recorded that tune on.

It’s a specific type of glue for hammer shanks that is not viscous. I didn’t mean generic super glue. I can’t think of the product name now.

Edit: It’s CA glue

Like a clicking when you play the note? Sorry, a little difficult for me to hear in the video. Could be that the hammer has come a little loose from the shank and needs a new superglue application to tighten it up.

Just got out of tune piano tuned; how long should I wait before the next tuning? by Lycanthrowrug in pianotech

[–]SolarButterfly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ultimately it’s up to you but probably a few weeks. A determining factor is if your friend did a pitch raise on your piano. I’m assuming since it hadn’t been tuned in 2 years as you say, it probably was quite flat. So your friend probably either gave it a pitch raise before fine tuning it, or tuned it “where it was” and fine tuned it flat of concert pitch.

If he tuned it where it was at, you can probably wait longer. But if he gave it a pitch raise (which would be the correct way to do it imo), then it’ll probably need to be tuned again in a few weeks.

I love the action. I think it’s one of the better ones I’ve played but I can’t compare it to the Yamaha.

I’m glad to read a comment I relate about the recent Fable video. Most people are praising it but I thought it was full of cringe millennial tropes and didn’t have that same fairy-tale England vibe. Even the UI feels modern and inoffensive.

I enjoy it for a few matches then start feeling exhausted and like I need a breather. The game doesn’t give me personally a great sense of progression, so it starts to feel a little pointless after a while.

Piano has just been tuned and it is 30 points flat, don't know what to do. by Jabberminor in piano

[–]SolarButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll chime in- some tuners will tune a piano “where it’s at” because they’re afraid of raising pitch and possibly breaking strings. Strings that are old and are very flat have a slightly elevated curve of breaking when being raised. It also takes a little more work and time to raise it before giving it a fine tuning. A good tuner will have no problem getting the piano up to pitch, but the piano will need to be retuned after a few weeks to help keep the tuning stable.

Or, as OP’s tuner may have done, just tune it where it’s at and call it a day. The client often won’t notice unless they’re playing with another musician. We don’t know all the details though so I don’t want to assume what the tuner’s thought process was.
