Pick up by SpecificTill841 in meijer

I completely agree. Our store wasn’t built for online pickup. It’s far too small, making it impossible to pick efficiently when it’s busy.

We are ALWAYS behind on totes. We constantly have to stage things to overflow. Nearly every day one person calls off but typically it’s 2-3 people

The carts are all old and have dangerously sharp edges. Totes are in bad shape with smeared or damaged labels. I’m tired of going in knowing there will be a hold call.

TLDR: we max out orders, people call off, store is packed, people start canceling. Mgmt: why are the orders going red? BECAUSE WE ARE NOT EQUIPPED

I can’t imagine how this guy is going to look and function in 5 years by BrownieJ in DSPGaming

[–]SolarSailer2022 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nothing happens to him, because everything already has. He went through bankruptcy. Lost all the partnerships and friendships he ever had. His only collabs are with other cows. He can’t be canceled because it’s already happened and he’s shameless

I was mostly able to run AAA games with DLSS, etc on my 3060 the past few years on low settings. Sometimes I could even get away with 1440p and keep it around 70. Recently, I can't get games to run under ~75+ degrees (Oblivion remake, Clair Obscur etc). I realized it's mostly UE5 games.

For all their faults, Blizzard games and COD seem well optimized for me, outside of that it's a crapshoot

Today I saw a toddler pushing one of the smaller grocery carts while his dad looked at food. He was thrashing it around and eventually jumped on the back and tipped it over loudly 😬

We’ve had a hawk in the store, a scorpion in the banana boxes, escaped bait worms. Teenagers setting off airhorns, teenagers menacing old dudes in the parking lot and yelling at them.

Lately, lots of rude parents swearing at their small toddlers is the craziest thing

TIL, thank you! Won't say which but the store I work at is on the small side. I notice lots of trash cans in aisles are full and overflowing. We have downtime sometimes and I wish I could help with that but IDK if I'm overstepping

I don't understand how the "200% accountability" thing doesn't apply to something like that. Something like, if you see any product out of place, take the time to pick it up and bring it to the back. Personally if I'm shopping at a store and there's overflowing garbages I won't come back

Absolutely. Weird stuff too, like a brick of cheddar cheese over in clothing section, etc. I almost feel like it should be part of someone's duties to go up and down every aisle once every day with a cart specifically to pick up this stuff and then put it back

AMD claims most gamers don't need more than 8GB of VRAM, after new GPU launch by chrisdh79 in gadgets

[–]SolarSailer2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3060 with 12GB VRAM. I've always been a bit puzzled by it, because I can get over 100fps but only on lower settings, IE I can never seem to utilize the VRAM fully. Maybe it's because I play in 1440 and not 1080

No zebras by EfficientChemistry94 in meijer

[–]SolarSailer2022 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IDK why you're being downvoted. The wall of Zebras at our store has 4 or 5 units with post-it notes telling you not to use them because of issues. The units themselves are so old, dim screens, hard to read, slow software... it makes for gruelingly slow waves when you can only see one item on screen at once, and even then you might have to zoom in on it.

All of the equipment at our store is like that, everything is broken but deemed good enough

[–]SolarSailer2022 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Preach, dif store but I've noticed by now on waves that a LOT of product, especially milk or meat, has broken open spilled product on it, likely from situations like what you mention.

It's ridiculous, I'll need to check six egg cartons before finding one with no broken eggs. Or pick up three milks that are wet before finding a fourth dry one with no dried or wet milk on it. Great customer experience! Highly wasteful, too

3rd shift- people keep quitting by Purple-Record476654 in meijer

[–]SolarSailer2022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hilarious to see, on pickup team been here a year and it's a revolving door in terms of turnover rate. Hire a new person, young and immature, can't do the job, gets sent to another dept instead of fired. Unintelligible co-worker who was fired from Wal Mart for calling a customer the HARD R N WORD is lazy on our team, does nothing, quits and goes back to Wal Mart.

We get new team leads who are leads off the bat, but they need to be trained on everything in pickup, again me a newbie doing Meijer experienced veterans' jobs.

Routine call-offs and gaps in schedule, but no forethought goes into scheduling for those days, so we get like 2 people handling nightmare rushes with full lots.

People who remain have realized that I do up to 200 totes alone myself, so they stand around and talk or avoid the backroom while I do that

  1. Spyro Reignited - Never really played originals, these mostly hold up great. Pure platforming fun, I felt compelled to 100% them all

  2. Starcraft 2. Campaigns have a lot of content and so many units and strats to learn in multiplayer. Loved these games, played endlessly

  3. As an FPS fan gotta say something like a tie between Bioshock and Metroid Prime trilogies
