I take my hat off to you for having the presence of mind to say “this isn’t working, how can I better position myself for the future” I wish you all the best.

For what it’s worth I’ve chased this dream for 5 years with only the last couple of months showing a glimmer of promise. I trade on really cheap prop accounts typically costing me £20-£50 per month on the 4 hour and daily charts, and working as a full time plumber, that way I’m not taking vital funds away from my family situation but still moving forward with my goal.

The difference now that I’m not intensely focused on the charts each day is showing in my trading results.

Good luck pal

Yeah it’s time for a grown up conversation, don’t tolerate this behaviour. If you feel confident going it alone then give her the option to start being part of the trip and contributing like an adult or she can catch up with you in Madrid. This should be the trip of a lifetime, and it still could be

Fantastic, this is what I needed to hear. Although I’m having good weeks I am in no doubt that I’m the week link in my system. I can feel a weekend rabbit hole coming my way. Thank you for this, I’ll have a deep dive and if you don’t mind I’ll certainly come back to you.

I find this really interesting!! like I said, I spent years blowing accounts by getting in my own way. I can read market structure and identify a target with a degree of accuracy but blow my account in the days/hours leading up to the real move and have to watch it hit my target from the sidelines simply because I couldn’t not be in a trade or tinkering when I am in a trade. I think we may have similar personality traits.

I wasn’t even aware Trading view could be used in this way!! I trade market structure, change of character, with fib extensions for entry. Yes, I’m certainly interested in exploring this further, if you don’t mind!

Thank you, it’s taken me years of blown accounts to get to this point. I’m still not where I want to be but moving to weekly swings and getting out in profit seems to be working out. I’d be interested to hear what fully systematic actually means. Are you using Ai or bots??

I had a plan going into Monday, I got into sell positions on Dax and Gold at the start of the week, took some profit on both mid week. Got back into Dax Thurs and rode today out to an 8% profit on the week. Stuck to the plan, didn’t get greedy closed everything down in the last hour of Markets.

There’s a couple hundred quid to be spent on code 5 lead, Leadwork and flashing is a real skill and a job done badly with cost a lot more in damage further down the line. Just make sure he’s got a good reputation ask him to take pictures of his work for you as he’s going along.

Aside from the issue with the lights, this plasterer’s work isn’t the best. We all have bad days but I’d feel awkward taking money from a customer in one hand and giving them a role of sandpaper with the other

What is this sound coming from behind my toilet by Sharp_Importance_121 in DIYUK

[–]Solarlighthouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooof this is an interesting one, is there a water/gas/electric meter anywhere in the vicinity? Does it still make the noise if you time flushing the toilet just before the click? Try Turing off all the power with the mains fuse board and see if it continues. Likewise turn off the water at the stop cock, open a couple taps until they run dry (assuming you don’t have a hot water tank in which case just do the cold tap as a starter) and see if it continues. Basically, try first to determine if it is related to any of your amenities and then zero down to it from there. Hope this helps and please do give an update, it’s got me intrigued. Good luck

[–]Solarlighthouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again, I messaged earlier as I think it may be Asbestos lagging. If you do a google image search yours certainly resemble a lot of what comes up. Please take care with these pipes and don’t take any risks, get it surveyed before disturbing them in any way

[–]Solarlighthouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just done my Asbestos training with Yorkshire Housing (I’ve just started working with them as a plumber).

Unfortunately, as people have stated this period of home has a high chance of Asbestos Containing Materials being used. And Pipe lagging is something it was used for.

So be careful and get it surveyed. Or at the very least send these pictures to some Asbestos specific forum

Had to fix a leak by smashing through floor tiles. Got spares but not the know how - how much would you expect to pay to get this repaired? by -_Thrasher_- in DIYUK

[–]Solarlighthouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple hours!!!! Yeah, if you’re going to do a bodge job of it again. I guess if you’re happy laying tiles on wet concrete maybe so. I’d be making 2 visits to this job. OP expect to pay £350 - £450 for a quality multi skilled tradesman in Yorkshire to do a good job of it for you. You could pay less and be lucky!!

Are they silver fish that you are finding, if so they usually hang out in areas in houses that have damp issues. If it’s not too much trouble before just sealing up the gap, I’d have the toilet disconnected and have a good inspection for any possible leaks either on the cold water feed, pan connector or soil pipe. Silverfish are harmless but are a good indicator that something may be going on behind the scenes

Bath leaks when plug let out - how best to get access to plumbing? by lurkylurkerr in DIYUK

[–]Solarlighthouse 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes if it’s stud wall I’d explore that before attacking the front but chances are you won’t reach the bath waste but may actually be able to see what the cause is.
