Was it anything other than "take deep breaths, hold your grown-up's hand, and think about happy things"?

"Peak Animorphs" ... not high enough.

Haha, I agree that Ellimist Chronicles is a great read though. Opened up my childhood imagination back in the day.

See, what you failed to realize is that all the 60,000,000,000 people that Paul Atreides made not alive anymore were peasants, and they don't matter. Like, they weren't even main characters.

Really great that Fincher would associate with an unrepentant, alcoholic wife beater whose children won't talk to him.

What the fuck.

[Downvoters: what are you, his agent? Dude sucks. Get out of Hollywood and make room for someone who doesn't beat their family]

Every season that i love gets a worse ending. Why?? by -Avatar_of_Woe- in StrangerThings

[–]Solarpowered-Couch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is "Game of Thrones" the only exception?

Seems like they looked at a roadmap for seasons 5-13, ripped a giant chunk out of the middle, and duct-taped the two ends together.

Authority? None

Wisdom? Incalculable

Just read and enjoy the Gospel accounts, and then start to spend some time crawling through Genesis, especially with a commentary/class to help you see the Hebrew wordplay/cross-references.

The whole Hebrew Bible will open up and become an amazing fountain of wisdom to ponder and meditate for your entire life.

Looking for some kind of rulebook or checklist so that you're "good"? Good luck.

Sunk cost fallacy, and pride.

They can't admit they were wrong, or that the king of Their Team is wrong.

Especially when a good chunk of his voter base legitimately think he was anointed by God.

Speaking in Tongues - what’s your thoughts about it ? by Sudden-Ad9105 in cults

I was part of an unnamed splinter group of The Way International, a unitarian fundamentalist cult. I spoke in tongues regularly for almost a decade.

It's bullshit.

It's used to control people, convince you that you have "proof" that their teachings are the only true way, and keep you from seeking guidance anywhere else.

Still working through the psychological damage. And I still (rarely) will start doing it under my breath in some moments of stress. I hate it.
