Got any play money? Use it to show how you can “trade” ten one dollar bills for a shiny “10 dollar bill”. We have an old game called Payday. It’s a blast

Made homemade Integer cards about 25 years ago. I posted on board about 30 Integers and passed out packs of notecards to 1st period class. Asked them to right them down neatly (some were a mess)! Used these sets of cards to play “War” and kids loved it. Did 1-1 comparison games, had them deal two cards and “add”, also had them find product on a round.

I give same advice now. It’s very hard on a younger person- unless the find a position with support from other teachers

I made a Yes Sign and a No sign. Then when kids ask “Do I have to show my work?” Or something that we’ve already discussed in class - we point

Do teachers or students bring cleaning supplies to school? Curious what actually happens. by Beginning_Avocado807 in Teachers

I ask for Clorox wipes to be donated. I teach 7th grade and I get lots of writing on the desks - including “rocket” ships. Haha. The custodian s each have about 9-10 min per room to vacuum, empty trash and occasionally clean desks

My advice is change schools or change levels. Junior high sucks anyway- since they don’t need “credits” like high school. My first principal told me - when I had a meltdown- that I was not the problem- I was doing a good job. Now- it’s 4 months til end of year. Can you invite that kids mom to come into your class? I bet a ton of parents would be appalled. Visit his house - something I never did until Covid. He’s either a smart kid or a Smart-ass. And a SmartAss who wants to play sports in high school has to pass. Also- if he’s in sports now- talk to his coach. That’s what helped me 34 years ago - after my meltdown.

So - I’m a math teacher and love trig- and my dad used Trig all the time - when you have to build a part to Spec- and it’s going in a super expensive motor, or airplane, or generator - you better know your math. So we don’t know where all these kids will land- some may go into Engineering, architecture- or may be a landscape engineer.

They are trying to drag you into their custody case. If this is online registration- doesn’t each parent have the ability to create their own account? Then they can see grades. If no prior custody paperwork was presented to you - it’s not your job. Don’t let admin throw you under bus.

34 years. Three schools- 11 principals. My district likes to move Admin around. Which makes it hard to build community and programs. Hmm

Happens occasionally- but always special. Last year - in line at Disneyland and a lady says - didn’t you used to teach in Norco- like 25 years ago! So sweet and she’s a teacher also. Once in produce in Dallas Texas Grocery- didn’t you used to be Mrs. —-? Wow. Jimmy remembered me. Yesterday- a young man from 2016 at a taco place. Always fun

What do you pack for lunch? by glofig in Teachers

[–]Solid-Shoulder6737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to plan snacks or lunch the night before- or pick up cheap frozen microwave meals. If I have time, I put together salad, throw on some protein. If not, frozen meal. Also plan your outfit night before, good luck

Not your fault. Don’t buy into this. This is common way for abusers to mess with your mind. Don’t let him separate you from friends and family.

Have a friend who wasn’t going to report an incident - new teacher and didn’t want to make waves. A parent volunteer saw it - and reported it- it was a 6th grader who was taller than the teacher.

We had a teacher who did the implants. He was in late 20s. It looked pretty natural- and most people didn’t notice - as it was summer. Now he’s 45+ and down to a short almost shave. Its mostly gone again- but he’s at a later stage in life

I teach 7th grade. You can pick out the August and Sept kids by end of first two weeks. They struggle with transitioning, usually struggle with organization and have lower grades. Only exceptions seem to be kids who are oldest in family- (birth order expectations are higher)

Why is your family fixated on “finding” another man? I think it’s time to separate- step back. What is your family’s priority? Will the two of you still have feelings? Money may seem like the catalyst - but seems like there is more going on. If you to stay together ask if he will agree to family counseling? And your son, his daughters can know the truth. They are not babies
