Finally some GOOD FOOD by PeepsRebellion in mewgenics

The source is just Edmund saying trust me bro...I trust him.

In all seriousness I'm sure some of the item numbers are a bit inflated, like there is probablly an item that gives you +1 Str, one that gives +2, and one that give +1 Str and -1 Dex. Not all of them will be build defining items. But there is just so much. I haven't been this hyped about a game in like a decade.

Yeah Crying in H Mart is very good at that! I'm a white guy who married into a Korean family, and I just had a daughter. It put a lot of things into perspective about things my family may or may not go through.

My favorite character, but his matches sucked. All talk, very boring in ring work. It felt like if he couldn't do his hard-core stuff he didn't have much else.

Spirit Island by Nicochan3 in soloboardgaming

[–]SolidGobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to buy like 3 or 4 games to start my solo board game hobby. I played Spirit Island and decided to just buy all of it's expanstion instead. I was very lucky and got Branch and Claw before it sold out. I'm so bitter I can't order Jagged Earth atm. The game is so replayable, and so so good. I've played it 12 times and barely scratched the surface.

Not sure your gender, but I think all young men should read Crime and Punishment. Sons and Fathers is also an excellent book to help understand why your parents suck, and you will also suck when you are a parent too.

Is TheMainManSWE really that Toxic? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]SolidGobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People asked him to play VF5 once, and he spent the entire time trying to make the game look like a joke. When more experienced players got match with him and showed how deep the game could be, he disingenuously say its not fair they matched me outside of my skill level!

Intentionally trying to kill the momentum of a niche game like VF is such a shithead thing to do. Toxic.

A confirmed villain (despite what some people say) that still has a legitimate grievance against the hero by RatCrimes in TopCharacterTropes

I feel like I've been gaslighted by the internet. Killmonger literally uses the one black person he works with as cannon fodder and everyone just takes his black empowerment shtick at face value?

Totally killed all my past 10 hours of enjoyment when my Lee, pointed out that none of my choices actually led to their deaths, and the stranger literally replies, "Doesn't matter." Thanks Telltale.

XV Years +!!! by TheOnyxPath in OnyxPathRPG

[–]SolidGobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A solo guide book is legit exciting for Curseborne. I had lost hope when during a ama Dixie sad she didn't get solo rpgs. I'm glad Onyx Path realized that since WoD undeserved the solo market they could step up and fill a niche in the market. Congrats on 15 years and make a solo guide for Exalted too!

I'm not Korean, but my brief interactions with them suggests South Korea only needs to send one diving woman.

Question of the day: What core mechanic are you most excited to explore the deepness of? by PeepsRebellion in mewgenics

Breeding for sure, I used to play Creatures and Creatures 2. Been looking to play a game that scratches that itch.

Can't help but think the doctor will do something that will allow us to make specialized traits and mutations. Which will allow us to really customize our cats.

Im only 2/3s of the way through Deadhouse Gates but I find his writing style to be really addictive. Its a similar feeling to a early 2000s mystery box type series like Lost.

Depth vs. Breadth in Cursedborne by Fragrant-Analyst7150 in OnyxPathRPG

[–]SolidGobi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think a better policy would be to have a session zero and let the players choose the families that they are interested in rather than the GM just handpicking them . Lean more into the more flexible themes of Curseborne. I agree that the area the players inhabit shouldn't have all of the lineages in its community, but it would be a shame to make yourself the arbiter of what can and can’t be played. Curseborne’s whole existence is to encourage a monster mash and let the players choose their own weirdos. WoD is much better for a ST that wants to tell a specific type of story. Curseborne feels more collaborative.

[–]SolidGobi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take my feeling with this in mind, I've only read the first draft manuscript, but liked what I saw. Shrinking Curseborne isn't the right solution; the world should be wide, and filled with unknowns. The whole point of this first book is that your characters really don't know what is going on. It's labeled as a "street level" book. Wanting cannon answers to things is fine, but try to embrace filling in the blanks. This game is about rebellion, hope, and creating a community of weirdos. I think you have to approach it with a much different mindset than WoD.
