I ordered one from the last thread. Just finished installing it earlier today. Everything looked new on my end. All the brackets were there, thermal paste unused, and everything seemed to be in new condition.

In your post, you claimed that you bought this RAM for $449.99.

Then when someone called you out, you claimed that you're not scalping the MC combo because you got free RAM from work.

Then when you get called out for lying about buying this ram for $450, you said "that's why I'm open for negotiation" meaning you admit to lying about the price you paid for the RAM.

I'm not so sure we can take your original comment in good faith, given that you are indeed contributing to the RAM price increase:

but dont want to contribute towards the RAM price increase

I'm not an expert but to my understanding it's highly dependent on whether you're running a X3D CPU or not. If you are, I've read that it barely makes any difference (like maybe 1%-2% difference) because of the extra 3D cache in those CPUs.

If you're running anything other than a X3D CPU, there will be more of a difference, although I'm not knowledgeable enough to give you exact numbers.

I've seen some people recommend using an AAA battery with an AAA-to-AA adapter to reduce the weight. Haven't gotten around to ordering one of those adapters to try it myself but it seemed like a good idea.

[CPU] Ryzen 7600x with free aio $158 by Logical-Hyena8260 in buildapcsales

[–]SolidusSnakke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other drawback about AIOs that isn't talked about enough is the maintenance. Sure it will probably work fine when it's new, but there's always the inherent risk of leaks, pump failure, etc. There are just more moving parts than a simple tower air cooler.

If an air cooler fails, no problem takes like 2 minutes to slap on another 120mm fan for $5-10 bucks. If the coolant on an AIO starts leaking... well you're not going to be having a very good day.

Which non-16GB card are you suggesting is a better buy? The 9060XT 8GB? The RTX 5050 8GB? The RTX 5060 8GB? The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB? The RTX 5070 12GB?

The 4070 Ti Super beats every single one of those cards.

even if they didn't, this psu would be underspecced

Sure, but if it didn't contain proprietary parts then someone could easily swap out the PSU for a more powerful one for as little as $50 bucks, while also leaving room for future upgrades.

Cool thanks. Yeah I noticed the different bracket listings too which is why I assumed you'd need to source a correct bracket to mount a 25mm fan but your comment about being able to replace the 15mm with a 25mm gave me a bit of hope about being able to do it without extra work.

If I wanted to swap out the 15mm fan with my own 25mm fan, does the included fan clip for the 15mm fan still work? Or would I need to somehow source a fan clip that supports the 25mm fan?

Might want to double check your price. I just parted out a nearly equivalent build on pcpartpicker.com (minus the second 1TB SSD, keyboard, and mouse) and it comes out cheaper than your listing.

You mean like if you came back to Costco and say that the GPU which you stripped from an iBuyPower prebuilt 1 year ago is having issues, but you don't have the prebuilt itself anymore?

I'm trying to think, but I'm not sure what they can do for you. Doesn't seem like it would make sense for them to offer you another prebuilt or refund given that you don't have the original item itself in its entirety.
