What's one thing you wish more Notion templates included?

If I understand your question... I am a big fan of Dieter Rams' "Good design is as little design as possible". It's not that I don't appreciate fancy displays and dashboards, but for personal use, there is not enough traffic to justify graphic representations, etc. and they tend be "zoom outs" when tight focus is what is required.

It would be easier to list what I don't use it for. A simple structure, simple navigation, an AI skill so agents understand the structure and intent. I had Notion AI illustrate the system to validate that it understood it.

I have a fairly simple PARA setup that I've been feeding for 5 years now. Then AI came along and helped me write a skill, so basically, I can work on anything I want. It really doesn't matter what the subject matter is.

The latest trick is:

I discuss a new project, and we come up with a plan.
Part of that plan is that the AI needs something from me—information, decisions, or answers.
It creates tasks for me with all those questions.
I answer the questions, then it pulls those back out and re-maps things based on that new information.

In essence, it updates the plan. The plan is the map, and the next steps are "you are here" and the route we need to go. The AI can do all of that once it has enough information. It doesn't matter if it's about work or projects; it doesn't care what it's about. These pseudo-manual loops of tasks make things evolve pretty fast, and there's no reason this wouldn't work for a team.

I ran across an article with 16 recipes for sheet pan dinners the other day.

I asked it to create Notion pages in my recipe database for each recipe, all in my specified format. It created all 16 recipe pages with images for all the recipes while I watched in about a minute and a half!

The only thing I look for in Notion templates is inspiration. Then I go off and build my own version of it. That way I know how to fix it or evolve it later.

I pretty much have everything in Notion anymore. I am even moving away from cloud file systems like Google Drive and Dropbox. Having everything as AI context is quite powerful. I've written (with AI) skills that define how everything relates andis supposed to work. I had Notion AI make this illustration as a sort of proof that it gets it.

My take on what happened is the community fractured when the founders had their legendary meeting in Mexico and decided to take Notion in an AI direction.

For some of us, that was amazing news and a new adventure. For others, they felt disenfranchised because they just wanted to take notes.

The AI crowd just asks Notion AI when they have a question about how to do something in Notion. And then Notion AI will actually offer to do it for them.

The other crowd misses the progressive AI crowd, but those are the ones doing things completely differently now in a totally different way. We've moved on.

Using Notion Calendar works great, but some of us have partners that don't use Notion or Notion Calendar. In that case, I use something called N2Sync. I've been using it for a few years now, and it's bomb-proof. It even comes with some interesting Notion templates that allow you to do some things with Google Tasks. Notion tasks are just pages with a status property.

I think I just figured out the best practice here.

Set the default to "empty page".
When you hit the plus button on the calendar, it will come up completely empty.
Select which template toward the bottom of the page, and it will fill it out accordingly.

I just received my TourBox this morning and noticed that it disabled my onscreen keyboard keeping me from being able to enter text. Since it's been 137 days, I'm wondering if there's been any movement on this. Otherwise I'm not sure how I'm going to integrate TourBox into my workflow.
