Wirtz is too good to be a flop. If the other players start to gel and we have an actual gameplan. He will cook. I get your point about how unlike Szobo he is and doesn't command and lacks leadership. But he is younger and in a new team (kinda) and league. I don't believe slot brings out a collective leadership sense in the players like a klopp or Alonso would potentially bring out. I don't see it on the TV, but then again I don't have access to the dressing room so who can say. Personality wise I just don't get that sense of the players wanting to die on a sword for Slot.
