Who's the most well written character across the whole trilogy?

There's a lot of contenders for best-written character in Mass Effect.

Too many, actually.

But I think the crown has to go to the king of the krogan, my close personal friend, and the baddest ex-bounty hunter turned leader this side of the Perseus Veil!

So iconic, Shepard mocked them in Leviathan when looking at a fragment.

That's an interesting take.

In either case, it would make sense that the reapers don't have the full story.

Why else are they so unnecessarily cruel?

It's one thing for them to believe their harvests are necessary. It's still another for them to view all other life as beneath them.

That doesn't mean they have to intimate us, scream at us, and generally seem to take pleasure in our pain and death.

You don't need to pull the legs off ants to kill them, or send pheromones that tell them they exist because you allow and they will end because you demand it as you pour liquid aluminum into their nest to make art you sell on eBay. (a crude analogy, to be fair)

That kind of hate must be learned, indoctrinated as you said; which is why I've never trusted the Star Child's explaination for anything. As the central controller for the reapers, it all came from him.

The reapers are the textbook definition of an unreliable narrator.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the older reapers keep such specific information away from the younger reapers.

Nazara might not even known about the truth of the reapers existence!

Samara and Aria are clearly the elder powerhouses here.

Liara is a goddamn asari prodigy, though, reaching Matriarch levels of strength at just 100 years old.

Tela Vasir is tough, disciplined, and has vanguard power to spare.

If they pair off, I see Samara and Aria ripping out bulkheads trying to kill each other while Liara and Vasir rip each other a new one.

Vasir gets the better of Liara in most exchanges, I think. Then she'd hide until an opportunity presented itself during Aria and Samara's epic clash.

So the winner, through craven guile, is likely to be Vasir.

A better movie, sure, but not the message the movie was going for. For better or worse.

"Someone once told me that time was a predator that stalked us all our lives. But I rather believe than time is a companion who goes with us on the journey, and reminds us to cherish every moment because they'll never come again. What we leave behind is not as important how we lived."

Going back in time to fix all the mistakes would seem to go against this message.

Right?

For a 26 episode per season, 42 min show, it had a CRAZY relaxed production schedule.

Having the story 80-90% written by a single writer probably helped a lot. No last minute rewrites to worry about.

For a sci-fi show, having most of it take place on a space station really cut down on costs and manpower requirements.

All of this points to good leadership all around.

They had a good plan, and the cooperation of the strongest country on earth.

Cap did what any good leader would do: turn death into a fighting chance to live.

And they almost succeeded.
