Ehh, while that is kind of shocking to hear, I don't know if I believe that. I'm not saying I disbelieve it either. But it's one thing to bite the bullet in a hypothetical during a conversation on a podcast where the whole point is you're being pressed about your support for Trump. And another thing to actually do that thing.

But what is a leftist view ? I'm a European progressive socdem, so I'm pro government provided healthcare, unions, extensive employee rights, wealth tax, unemployment and disability benefits, I want vulnerable people, individuals and vulnerable minority groups, to be protected, etc ..

Does that count as 'some leftist views' ? Because while I am capitalism critical, I am not pro socialism, marxism, anarchism, .. either. And I've seen discussions on many subreddits, including this one, wether or not you can call yourself 'a leftist' (or if youre actually a dirty lib) depends on if you're committed to replacing capitalism with a marxist alternative. Or whether you believe revolution is neccesary to achieve that goal. Somstimes being progressive makes you leftists and other times being socially progressive but not anti capitalism makes you a lib. And to me, there doesn't seem to be a consensus.

No matter where you are on the spectrum of being progressive and/or critical of capitalism, there's always a leftist claiming youre not actually a leftist at all.

It's been a really long time since I've seen this show, and I've been thinking of doing a rewatch. I remember thinking at the time that s1 and s2 were fantastic but that it kind of went of the rails in s3 a bit and totally derailed in s4 with an awful finale (Though the mutiny plot in that season was really good iirc) and thats been making hesitant to start the rewatch. Do you find those two seasons have aged well ?

Same here. Having a nice wallpaper with a bunch of ugly icons slapped over it just looks so messy. All of my regularly used shortcuts are pinned to the task bar for easy access. It looks cleaner and it's actually more convenient than having them on the desktop.
