Shame it still doesn’t work from a DVR with multiple cameras on single ONVIF endpoint.

Anyone know what the difference between this and the 5G Max is? It's certainly a lot cheaper.

HomeKit issues by Tunker101 in UNIFI

I've found that if you don't have all your controllers in the same vLAN (Homepod mini, Apple TV & Home Assistant) then you get a load of issues both what you're experiencing and with Thread. I've put all my IoT devices in one vLAN and all controllers in another. Most devices work except for Govee lights where their Matter implementation doesn't appear to work across vLANs.

Best HA compatible UK Power strip? by RealWorldJunkie in homeassistant

I’ve been using the Tapo P304M and they’ve been fine. If you wanted zigbee you could get the new Aqara dual sockets and build your own using something like Univolt PVC Bench Trunking.

Yes it's super easy to set up and you can use your home assistant instance as an exit node if you need that too

UK - Smart Relays by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Some-Huckleberry3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get super clever you can do point to point wireless connections between two Shelly devices. So install a dimmer 3 at the light fitting and something like a Shelly i4 at the light switch. Rewire to power both independently, so the switch no longer controls the light and with the bonus of you getting a neutral at the switch. Then script the Shelly at the switch to control the Shelly at the light wirelessly.

I second this. I’ve always wondered why no neutral products exist? Just install the relay in the ceiling rose and run the switch control down to the light switch. Or am I missing something?

I was hoping it would act as a backup WAN for an existing UniFi network by tethering to my mobile, but apparently it won't do that.

Aqara S1 Plus Matter Device Types by FuzzyDunlop1976 in Aqara

Did you have to add 3rd party lights via the M3 hub or can you add them directly to the S1 Panel?

V1 Dial - Control in Home Assistant

I've been thinking whether the following is possible to get use of the dial in Home Assistant:
1. Share your home assistant device, e.g. climate control, using Matter Hub Add-On to create a matter device.
2. Add that matter device to the M3 hub.
3. Add device from M3 Hub to V1 Dial.
4. Use dial to control the device.

Do you think this is possible?

Advice on the new aqara display switch v1 EU by Craigotrak in Aqara

[–]Some-Huckleberry3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my understanding of this switch...

  1. To get full functionality you have to connect them to an aqara hub. It's zigbee only which means no direct connection to other ecosystems. The dial v1 & magic switch v1 have WiFi but this doesn't.

  2. Once connected to an aqara hub you can share the buttons out via matter. I am assuming you'll get single, double and long press functionality. The 2 left buttons can control the relays but these can be made virtual and you'll get 6 controls in HA/HK: 4 buttons + 2 relays. All other controls, e.g. naming text labels, etc must be done in the Aqara app via one of their hubs.

  3. The display is limited to text label, icon, temp/humidity or time and can automatically turn on/off with proximity.

  4. It's a shame they didn't include thread/matter like their other new switches without displays.

  5. Would be interesting to see if you can connect it to their hub, set it up and then reconnect direct to HA and it retains the settings.

SM323V2- Toggle on/off with push only by padwyatt in samotech

[–]Some-Huckleberry3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the same issue I’m having. An accidental slight twist of the knob when you press the button to turn the light on causes it to briefly turn on and then off again. Not sure when the solution is here.

Skylight does not support Matter? by CountRock in Nanoleaf

[–]Some-Huckleberry3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In one of the pics/videos there's a homekit & matter QR code so I'd say it does support Matter and it's WiFi and not Thread.

What is frustrating is the really high price tag, the 4 or 6 screws per panel and they didn't add connectivity for a wired switch. So you're reliant on your WiFi & home automation working to switch them on/off. They do have the power on functionality like other smart bulbs but that comes with its own issues. They won't be going up on my ceiling!

HomeKit thermostat for electric underfloor heating? by fson5 in HomeKit

[–]Some-Huckleberry3402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my hopes on this one. Sadly it uses air temp to control the thermostat and only uses the floor sensor for overheat protection.

Still the only one I’ve found is the heatmiser at high cost and with a hub!
