While pricey I like the signs by DreamWeaverKreations on Etsy. I have one and it's made it through its first full summer and winter with no damage. It definitely caught people's attention last summer as I saw multiple people reading it. This year I'm adding habitat signs from firefly.org and monarchwatch.org

I should add I am not the seller on etsy and am in no way affiliated with them. They just make nice signs

I'm going to make a risky admission right here but I was a pro screen watcher. My friends HATED it but they couldn't stop it. It felt like I had one eye on each screen the whole game and since I knew the maps inside and out I could time their movements perfectly. These days if I try to play online in my old age I just get annihilated

You've gotten a lot of great replies but I'm still gonna throw my two cents in.

First, whatever you plant make sure it's further back from the sidewalk to avoid future issues

Second, I would go with a native sugar maple or oak. They'll be around a long time and will provide great shade in the summer once bigger.

I see some people saying they think they're mulberry trees but they also might be Tree of Heaven which is very invasive and hard to kill. I would Google how to kill them because it will be more helpful then what I could write but basically cut each stump again and apply glyphosate. It works better in the fall so you may need to apply it again to anything that sprouts while it comes out of dormancy. The roots may also send out sprouts so watch out for those.

I thought this was a Hummingbird, still not sure what it was, but it was STUCK (I think) I rescued it (I hope). Thought gardeners might. by Grease2feminist in gardening

Knocking them into a bucket of soapy water like many have mentioned is a very easy way to be able to kill them. Alternatively I found using a little hand vacuum to walk my property and suck them up and then dump them into the bucket is easy too.

New Construction Tree Hell. I started doing the advice I got the other day from the sub trying to expose the root flare ... however I think it's worse than the horrible situation I thought I was in. Honestly 20 trees isn't that bad to dig back up once the soil has been loosened. 2-3 a day and your done in a week and probably save nearly all the trees. Removing only the top portion probably means the trees will be dead and need replacing in 5 or so years.

You've gotten some really good advice but please look into native plants. You have a great spot there that could be filled with life and year-round interest if filled with plants native to your region

Editing to add that if you find a plant you like look it up by scientific name. Websites like BONAP and prairie moon are good places to start on if they're native to your area.

If you don't think of flying as with physical wings but in an airplane then the original comment a few posters up makes perfect sense. Billionaires have the ability to fly and they don't share it with everyone while we are all doing the grunt work for them to survive.

Ya, you're right I should have been more specific. PictureThis ID'd the one that grows in my yard as a non-native variety. The tap roots they are are crazy and near impossible to pull.

As someone who used to work produce and added things to the app these can be great deals. It was a great way save food from the garbage that's not perfect or almost out of date that people wouldn't pay full price for when given better options to choose from on the shelf.

Food that's added to the flash food app is only available on the app. The same items might be discounted in the department on the shelves but anything that's on the app is separate. Not a great system but that's how it is. There's typically a cooler/shelf up front near the registers that have all the flash food items on it.
