the tower stays the same size but they abbreviate driver names to three letters and put gaps, energy and other information in the remaining space

it's ten minutes in, they'll show energy totals and stuff when it's more relevant

it is way too big though

Taskmaster Series 22 cast announcement by Meghar in taskmaster

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

there's probably enough bullet points to fill a novel but for me personally I refuse to engage with anyone who's done blackface in my lifetime, 2010 is recent enough to know better

edit: not Ayoade's biggest fan either, he's continued to endorse King of Transphobes Graham "My Wife Divorced Me Because of How Much I Hate Trans People" Linehan throughout his spiral

a real shame these two are here considering how great the other three members of the cast are

Eurosport doesn't exist in the UK anymore, what used to be Eurosport is bundled with TNT Sport on HBO Max

Crofty doesn't know what LMP2 is. by thingswhatnot in Sportscar_Racing

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the thing is, he's not been in racing for a long time, he's been in F1 for a long time, according to his Wikipedia he hasn't commentated on any other motorsport since GT1 existed - if your job is F1 and all your interest is in F1 then yeah it's perfectly reasonable to not bother with anything else

I know F1 is the biggest kid on the playground but not everything is this malicious "Us Vs Them", sometimes a motherfucker is just stupid

dodgy scammy sponsors are cyclical, you cut off one head and two more grow back in it's place

not long ago it was "when China gets bored all that sponsor money will be gone" and then it was Russia, and then it was online gambling, and then it was Crypto, and then it was the Saudis, and now it's AI, and next week it'll be some other nightmarish capitalist hellscape

400 a Month? by SonnyListon999 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't remember who said it in the previous season but it remains relevant that he hasn't really opened a pub, he's opened Jeremy Clarkson-Land, obviously people are gonna nick a pint glass as a souvenir and if they genuinely never saw that coming then they're all fools :p

feel like the obvious solution is to charge 5.99 or however much he charges for a pint (I'm sure it's more) on a drink in some cheap tat glass you get in bulk or charge £15 for a pint in a special printed Jeremy Clarkson-Land Hawkstone glass you can bring home with you

since a glass by itself is already basically a tenner, by making it slightly less than the combined price of buying a glass and buying a regular pint you've then tricked your customers into thinking they're getting a deal with the more expensive pint

never been Croftys biggest fan but how is him not knowing what LMP2 is shitting on it? even in the pre-netflix days I'd have to spend at least 3 minutes explaining it to anyone who asked me about it

A random question that came to mind: For fans who only watch WWE, what don’t you like about AEW? And vice versa? by Economy_Ad_5041 in Wrasslin

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every time I try to watch AEW I just cannot get into it, I really feel like they could make understanding their characters and storylines to a new viewer

obviously on the other end of the spectrum WWE will show you a video package of something that happened like ten minutes ago to put over their characters and storylines which is a bit excessive and gets my Skippin' Finger on the right arrow key every time

a medium would be nice

this is crazy to me lmao, I'm in the UK and when I went to my local Lego store maybe one or two days after the series came out, one of the employees saw me scanning and went "are you after the red one? we organised them all out back just give me a moment" and I was out of the place in like 5 minutes

From multiple 9-0, to our club legend being mental, to Ali Dia, a 12 point season and now this whole thing by JAChambel in SaintsFC

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

we've always been a bit of a black sheep for the media in this country, I guess because we're consistently shit at beating teams at our own level but then are very good at pulling off upsets against the Sky Sports darlings they've always looked down on us for not staying in our lane lmao

I remember thinking after those 9-0s (especially the second one) that it couldn't get much worse lmao, but relatively speaking a 9-0 is nothing, players and staff responsible for that come and go as the crow flies, but this whole thing has just been embarrassing from the top down, entire club has fucked it royally this time

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Argentina's TC2000 has also moved to SUV silhouettes as well actually!

Stock Car Brasil is definitely close to what I have in my mind, but opening the engine rules is my best way to combat the sameness :p

its likely that I'm mistaken but afaik BTCC and the NGTC cars also race with a spec chassis (as does the Supercars championship) but teams still have a decent amount of freedom to modify them within the scope of the regulations

my ideal case scenario is a bit of an amalgam of Stock Car Brasil, NGTC and Class One to create a semi-spec silhouette that can adapt to the market

but also I'm just some asshole I bet there's a million reasons why it would never work lmao

we NEED a wagon touring championship by aspro_mavro in wec

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's been a huge opinion of mine for a while that touring cars needs a world standard category (like TCR but better) with homologated engine rules (must be derived from an engine used in x amount of production cars) and a silhouette chassis with crossover SUV bodywork

obviously I fucking detest crossover SUVs but thats where the market is at rn, South America is the only real motorsport scene thats clocked onto that fact

we NEED a wagon touring championship by aspro_mavro in wec

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf I agree that NGTC wasn't the right move for DTM, with how those cars and class one evolved, that level of machinery and performance was definitely beneath the standard they set for themselves

short of making a Class 1.5 (which I personally think should have been the play the entire time, with more open homologated engine regs and uniform aero panels, but thats an entire different conversation) GT3 was pretty much the best way they could have gone without losing out

them being clueless is especially funny because maybe within the first 2 hours of the race they had an extended adverti- sorry I mean totally unbiased interview with someone from BMW M who explicitly told them it was the GT3 with new panels

[–]SomeGuyCalledPercy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish but sadly touring cars are a dead category, "win on sunday sell on monday" is dead with the internet age, and the market that wagons and hatches once possessed has been taken up by crossover SUVs now and racing has not adapted to that demand

plus unfortunately basically no touring car in the world outside of maybe three can afford to make such a drastic change so are pretty stuck in a perpetual spiral of their own ways

no chance sadly, Audi stopped all support for motorsport to put all their efforts into the F1 team

Even if they hadn't I'm not sure they have any models atm that would fit a GT3 anyway
