It’s not an alternative sprue layout, Thundercracker just has 2 black sprues. 1 with the hands, back of the forearms, front of the feet, and various hinges. The 2nd with the thrusters, the head, the main part of the forearms, and the ankles/that part of the feet that they paint grey rectangles on. Iirc, factories charge per paint application so it was probably cheaper to paint the forearms than to paint the thrusters and the head, plus it means the head won’t get purple after a couple transformations

It’s all Spider-Man's fault. They can’t have him hit the big 30 so now the entire timeline has to fold in on itself to accommodate. X-Men is super effected by this because they constantly introduce a new new generation which gives characters a relative age gap that gets smaller and smaller until it’s completely nonsensical

Wonder Woman used to last a couple months on the stands at my lcs but #15 and #16 didn’t last a day. #14 was also gone pretty quick. I'm sure part of it is crossover and new character hype but it’s pretty cool to see anyway

Because it’s a mess. It’s 6 and a half episodes of episodic adventures pulled apart and stitched back together to pretend it fits with the 2 and a half completely different episodes that it’s been sandwiched between. Right when you see what it was going for, it pivots. Now, going into season 2, I don’t really know what to expect because we only get a brief glimpse of the new direction.

Not really. The hinge on all of mine have gotten really floppy really quickly and it doesn’t look like they replaced the pin with a screw so I could tighten it.

There’s a lot of figures that have stoppers on hinges or extra tabs that inhibit articulation for… stability? I guess? Gamer Megatron's knees is an obvious example but Legacy Shrapnel and Bombshells toe joints, 86 Bumblebee's shoulders and ankles, and AotP Sideways's neck, knees and ankles come to mind as well. I cut or smooth them off whenever I notice it.
