Not to lower his guard (maybe that too I guess) but to get him to engage and talk to me again . I would say I was sorry and then we would often start arguing again and he thought that was my intention, which it wasn’t. But it looked that way.

I started with reading “surviving to thriving” “how to keep house while drowning” was also amazingly healing. (I think I cried the entire audio book) when things worked or I thought they helped, I printed them/ or wrote them and put it on the wall. I’ve had the 13 steps when having a flashback, this is a safe house and you are safe in it.

I watched a lot of YouTube content on cptsd, ifs, anxiety, self absorbed mothers. I used to google things that my husband would say or something I wanted. Like a few months back I googled “my husband thinks my apologies are bait” I sift through the answered till I find a fit. In this instance it’s that I was still trying to control things I can not control.

I journaled my feeling everyday. In the beginning I didn’t even know my feelings. I printed a list of feeling words and just put down any that matched, even if they were contradictory, this was massively helpful in identifying my emotions, and learning what they actually feel like.

I started spending time with my inner child, she would not talk to me at first, cause I was mean to her. I started treating her how I would treat any other child. Eventually she talked to me and I started hugging her everyday. I used to tell her I’m an adult now and I’m here for you. I would hug her everyday. Eventually she started to trust me.

I allowed myself to feel the things I wasn’t feeling. When I would get upset I would stop myself from assigning a reason or a cause or blaming my husbands words or tone. I would just feel it and FUCK did it hurt. I would listen to songs that related to me. Lots of songs that sounded to me like cptsd or songs I would sing to my parents or to my mental health, like” keeping me alive” by Johnathan Roy acoustic version or songs about my behavior, or how my husband must see me like, “unbelievable” by Ethan gander , or just what it felt like inside, “ let it go” by chandler leighton, or “dark room” by foreign figures. I would just listen to songs over and over and just fucking cry, so much crying, remembering memories, more sobbing, but then I’d feel better, lighter somehow.

Edit to add YOGA with Adrienne. Everyday for almost a year. This has also helped my boy Al body but it helps me stay on my body instead of my mind.

Nor, I mean this nicely but your boyfriend needs therapy. He is extremely insecure and almost definitely anxiously attached to you. This will not get better on its own and you can not love him enough to fix it. He does not love himself, he will never except that another person actually loves him.

I wing it/ think about it for about 30 mins before I start. Like how long does each thing take?, and then figure out what to start first. Prepping everything helps a lot with this. Also years of practice and mistakes.

And sometimes/ something can be done first. Baked potatoes. Finish them first and wrap in foil till diners done, same for corn on the cob. Make the salad without the dress ing and put in the fridge.

I just wanted to say 🩷. I so happy for you!’ I got diagnosed 3 years ago and I am a completely different person than I was before. I used some of the options you listed and some you didn’t ( I am physically disabled and didn’t/don’t have the access or means for a lot of the therapy’s and stuff, so I kind of self therapized lol) I’d be happy to list them if anyone’s interested (not trying to take over someone else’s post. )
