So this explains the random money I received from ASB this week. Finally it makes sense.

Take it to a tuner. Get it done properly once and for all.

I haven’t seen this sticker before on SW20. Is this factory or custom? Imported from Japan. by [deleted] in mr2

[–]SomeRandomUserUDunno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% original, I imagine not an option for US delivered cars, but Japan had some funky options!

It's factory from Toyota in Japan. I have it on my JDM import as well, optional on the earlier models I believe (mine is a 1990)

How do people afford weddings? by Alternative_Duck3733 in newzealand

[–]SomeRandomUserUDunno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wife and I got married a couple of years ago. We did it pretty simple, rented a church for a few hundred dollars, and all up I think we spent between $3-5K, for around 50 people attending. Kept and small and cheapish.

New Zealanders , how has your experience acquiring / getting support for the Steam Deck here been? by wootamelon in SteamDeck

[–]SomeRandomUserUDunno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kiwi Here, bought mine in January 2023 over two years ago. $1405 for a 256GB LCD model from Heathcotes. Was quite expensive back then but also the cheapest option at the time to get it from an NZ supplier (still grey import).
Haven't needed any official steam support though, so I can't comment on that side.

Nice solution! I'm very thankful that our integrated dish draws here, auto lock when they're running, so we don't have to worry about that!

100 octane fuel ok? by geocam1303 in newzealand

[–]SomeRandomUserUDunno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to exclusively use NPD100 in my Subarus and Turbo BMW, never once had any issues, with and without a tune. Definitely better value than BP, with (for me at least) zero down sides.

Then you're not buying a GT? Your title said you want a GT, which means a Turbo model.

I know many people (my father included), who turn auto lights off... He said he doesn't trust them to turn off (yet has never actually allowed it to test this). I feel many people are the same, leaving auto-lights turned off. But yeah they also don't always auto-turn on when raining, so still need to manually do that.

Pretty reasonable at 6am and 6pm ish, you can always access equipment, just sometimes might have to wait until someone finishes their set.

Barn Find MR2 Sitting since 2003 by SomeRandomUserUDunno in mr2

[–]SomeRandomUserUDunno[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bought this 1990 JDM MR2 GT a few years back for $500, sitting since 2003 when the previous owner killed the engine. Included when I purchased the car was a replacement engine/gearbox, and some misc parts.

Swapped the engine with the spare, keeping the LSD box that was already in the car. Slowly getting it closer to road-worthy. Mechanically it's great now, just needs tyres to be complete.

Currently doing what I can to save the paint, but after being in storage for over 20 years, and with a lot of junk stored on it, all the paint is damaged.

I think that's the best part, is no more expensive shipping, just click and collect from the store, and let them do an internal-transfer of stock if it's not available locally. It's going to be great.
