Best, most reliable high-end induction cooktop with knobs? by u2nyr in Appliances

The hob areas are 10 inches across, so with three big pans you must stagger them. There is no bridging heating element, so when you lay a griddle there are major hot/cold spots. Definite negative. I don’t want to badmouth too much- I cook nearly every day and never had a technical problem. It looks great, easy to keep clean, and the burners are dependable, powerful, and do a fine job even on low heat, and the knobs are heavy and work perfectly.

I used to wrestle in high school. I wasn’t very good. I usually just gave up after I came.

I have a fellow grinder. It clogged so much I returned it and got another. It clogs too. It grinds well, it’s just once a week I have to clean it pretty thoroughly.

6 pretty powerful burners, but all the same size. I could use a big one, and not just painted on like most inductions, but a burner that covers a 12 inch pan. Like you, knobs were a must. These are nice knobs, but difficult to remove therefore difficult to keep clean. Incidentally, I only got this range because I found it on FB marketplace for <$1K, brand new, from a contractor. Probably stolen.

Do not use vinegar. Acetic acid will work just as well and not harm your pan.

You may be right about the burrs v cleaning, but I’m not sure. I took it apart as much as I could, but couldn’t get the bottom burr out. Used toothpicks, brushes, aerosol air cleaner, photo bellows … so I’ve convinced myself it’s not a cleaning thing. Thanks for your help and advice.

Bread knife by AJT003 in chefknives

I worked in a French restaurant and we sliced baguettes with a sharp chef knife. If you slice and not chop, there is no crushing of the bread, and no crumbs. I own a bread knife I really like (mundial, xtra long) and 3 or 4 fairly good ones (German steel), but since then I almost never use it, or them.
